The book he was last working on was Collapse of the Republic. The one I think he plans after that is Dawn of Rebellion. When those will happen we dont know it is predicated on his real world job.

Yeah. And this whole COVID fiasco isn't making things easier.

Whenever I open a particular character's sheet and switch to their second Specialization, it pops up with the Dedication selection box for choosing the Characteristic. No matter what I select, it always pops up when opening it, doesn't change that Characteristic, and always lists the original Characteristic in the actual Dedication talent box. Ideas?

but not with any other character? just the one? If sos sounds like that character got corrupted

It's only one NPC this time. It's happened before to PCs, though. I regularly export each PC sheet because of such problems, and it's not that hard to whip up a new copy of the NPC, but it's annoying. I was hoping maybe it was a known issue with a known cause and known solution. Especially if it's something I'm doing wrong.

I do, but the first time this happened was when I first downloaded the app and was using the custom data set before adding anything. In every instance, deleting the character and re-entering it exactly the same, or importing a slightly older xml of the character ("older" meaning maybe two weeks), both fix the problem. If this isn't a common problem, it doesn't make or break it for me or anything, I was just hoping it wasn't just me. lol

not a common problem but might require sending Ogg a corrupt character so he can see what is mucked up

So I have multiple entries of items and attachments from certain books. I have tried removing the duplicates in the data editor, but they do not seem to go away. Any suggestions?

I want to export dataset, but I have edited and worked under "default" dataset all the time and this one has the option unavailable. What can I do? How can I transfer all my work to new dataset?

You have to make a new dataset before you do this, I believe. Activate new dataset, and activate copy/move (it's a check/tick box high up in the data editor near the dataset selector), then select all (or just the various talent, careers, specialisations, equipment, etc), and copy to this (new) dataset.

If that makes sense.

Answer: More than likely, you added this data yourself using the data editor, and a later version of the software had it added to its stock data. To fix this problem, just delete your custom versions, remembering to transfer over any descriptions first to the stock items.

I tried to search for this problem I'm having and couldn't find it or didn't enter the right words for what I wanted and I also read the FAQ. Can anyone please help me use the Data Editor a lil better. I'm trying to fill in the Talent trees that my character's may use to be correct instead of "found in book XYZ page 123". I thought this was a copyright thing to where we needed to do that and I'm great with that, but I can't figure out exactly how to do it and I found "where I think is to go" the Specialization tab and then click modify on whatever you're wishing to change and then I see the Talent Tree for that Specialization but see know option to add data. Is this not changeable?

Again sorry if this has been covered but I spent about an hour actually looking before posting here. Please someone point me in the right direction!!

You’re overthinking it.

Just change the description. 😁

By default, the description has the page and book reference you mentioned, and just needs to be overwritten with the description you want.

I've edited plenty of text but just can't seem to find WHERE to do so for the Talents in a given Talent Tree. I can't even find where the Book/Page # text is. The Modify just has drop downs to change that particular talent to another.
