Another Character Generator

Release 2.2.1.1.
One issue I've found: With the Military Modular Backpack Frame, you can't attach two of the same modules (such as two storage modules).

The text for the MMBF (going from memory as I'm AFB), "up to two different modules," can be read as disallowing stacking the same module. I don't know if that's OggDude's take on it or if it's just an oversight.

For crafting Gadgets, it says choose any General Skill. General skills are all skills that are not Combat or Knowledge related.
Hope that helps.

For the Armor Templates, the Combat Armor template is listed as already having the Sealable quality. Given that one of the options to customize a set of constructed armor is to add the Sealable quality, pretty sure that Combat Armor shouldn't have it by default.
You're probably right. It's the only one that has Sealable. I removed it.

As always, thank you Ogg for an absolutely essential game tool.
Well, I had created it, but forgot to add it to imports
It'll now be available.

This is RAW. When you create a gadget, you choose a General skill to be the "right tool for the job". (Special Modifications, pg. 84)

"The frame can be fitted with up to two different modules from the following list:" (FiB pg 55)
Sorry, noticed that some of the questions I answered were already answered
Anyway... I have some free time today, so I'm going to prepare for another bug fix release. I've accumulated a good number of fixes since the last release.
Any new books come out since the last release? I've been busy, and the last time I checked, a few were still in the wind.
Below are the fixes that will be in the next release. Please let me know if something you've found is not in this list:
- When purchasing attachments, the number of HP the attachment takes up is now displayed in the grid.
- A new feature in item attachments was causing a crash in the Data Editor when a new attachment was added. This has been fixed.
- Fixed formatting and spelling issue with BR-219 Heavy Blaster Pistol.
- The Talent Item Change feature was incorrectly applying UnarmedOnly item changes (such as from the Iron Body talent) to all weapons, instead of just unarmed. This has been fixed.
- In cases where a pre-existing unranked talent becomes available in a talent tree, and the selection of that talent causes another pre-existing unranked talent to become available, only the first unranked talent was automatically selected. Now, all such talents should be automatically selected, as each selection will now check to see if other talents become available for selection. Also, in cases where auto-selection causes a talent to become available that has already been checked (and, therefore, won't be checked again), the entire tree is now re-scanned whenever a talent is auto-selected.
- The Overwhelm Emotion talent was not adding Force dice to the Charm, Coercion, or Deception skills. It now does this.
- The Stun Pulse attachment was set to work with all melee weapons. It now only works with weapons in the Bludgeoning Brawl and Bludgeoning Melee categories.
- The Raquor'Daan Beastmaster adversary has been added to the Lords of Nal Hutta Import folder.
-
Removed "Sealable" from the combat armor template in the Crafting dialog, since "Sealable" can be purchased as an option.

Nothing since Ghosts of Dathomir. There are three or four currently On The Boat, and changed to that status at the same time. Whether or not they all hit shelves the same day or FFG decides to stagger them remains to be seen.
The major book that will have the most content to add would be Fully Operational for the ship building rules and Dawn of the Rebellion having 9 different trees and who knows how many other things will be added. I wish they would let Oggdude preorder and download a pdf of the books for him to add to the generator, but not release till the books come out for everyone else.

That would for sure be useful and helpful and appreciated... So it's not likely to happen.?
Realistically neither he nor his generator are part of FFG. And afaik they still don't have a digital license to allow them to make pdfs or legitimize his generator.
Edited by jayc007Suggestion for a future release: For cost and rarity, how difficult would it be to allow marking rarity as “one of a kind” or “unique,” and price as “priceless?” I’m thinking it could be useful for artifact-type items such as the Muur Talisman that I recently statted out.

I would love that idea for him but alas do you see them going for it? So far they don't seem to give in to customer's pressures, suggestions, demands or requests... that I've seen anyway.

I see a legal justification, play testing, that could be used to give Oggdude early access to digital copies of the "nearly" finalized upcoming releases. I think that the legal departments of most corporations that deal with Disney ip would be much too afraid of Disney lawyers to allow this, when the stakes are loosing 5he star wars license and get riskier (law suit/black listing) from there. I mean Disney verses almost any corporation and Disney wins in court 9 times out of 10 (if only because it becomes to costly to fightl
As great as that would be, I dont think Oggy would want to do that ? I mean, its awesome enough that he made this wonderful tool for us to use for free out of his own time. But adding to it by actually WORKING {IE play testing new stuff before putting it into the generator} Wouldnt be so awesome {unless he loves his work in which case doesnt do anything}
Dont get me wrong, it'd be awesome for Oggy to be an offical FFG playtester able to put the soon to be released info into the generator and then release updates with each new book as its offically released. but I dont think it would happen, if it does happen I'll drink Ghosts engine oil wash.
Note: Ghost is my A-Wing starfighter a little too Imbued with the Force she follows me around like a puppy, and yes, Ghost is a FEMALE A-Wing

Also, unless Disney has changed the rules, games (which includes PDF's for some reason) are not licensed with the RPG's. If they did put OggDude on staff, he would probably have to stop the character generator. Not to mention EA would probably scarf it up, cut it up and make it all DLC drop-based for each module. "Oooh too bad! You got the Core Rule book, again! Only 4.99 for another spin!"

I don't think that play testers are staff/get paid, I think they are third parties who sign NDA's about not sharing what they know about the to be released material before it hits the shelves. So I think that him only being an unpaid playtester is a perfectly legal loophole for oggy to get early access to digital copies of the material. But a lot of companies take offense to legal loopholes being exploited, and I imagine Disney is one of them.
That said, I believe that FFG paying oggy to adapt this character generator to Genesys would be the legal death of the staff wars character generator for the exact reasons you mentioned (he'd be an employee of ffg).
As a player-turning-GM, I'm curious how you guys are using the GMTools section of this beyond as a super cool notebook/stat block exporter?
- Do any of you use the "Encounters" Section and if so, how is it useful to you?
- Do any of you use the "Group" section and if so, how is that useful to you?
- What is the purpose of the Stock Vehicles section?
- What kind of reports are you running that are useful?
- What are your favorite features?
- What would you consider to be a hidden gem of the GM Tools?
Thanks in advance,

I use the Encounters tool every session, both for "structured" and "unstructured" encounters (for want of a better term). For "structured" encounters, I'll add whatever NPCs and vehicles the group will face in the proper numbers that they'll be facing. For "unstructured" encounters - that is, if I know there's a strong chance they'll be running into creatures in the wild, or something like that - I'll add one of each kind of creature (or whatever) as quick and easy reference.
The Group tool is especially useful if you can get your group to keep you updated on electronic copies of their characters. I use it to track their characters' Obligation, Duty, Morality, as well as any that belong to the group as a whole. When printed, there's a handy Obligation chart, for example, that's useful for rolling Obligation. As a player, I've also used it to keep track of a character's businesses and employees.
The name "Stock Vehicles" is actually a misnomer (I think, anyway), as they're not "stock," but more like specific, named ships. It allows - for illustration's sake - to be able to take a stock YT-1300 and turn it into the Millennium Falcon , and make the Falcon available to the group.
Edited by NytwyngI just discovered the crafting-section in the char-generator. What I m missing there is a reference to the corresponding source-books.
Concrete: Crafting LS, on step 2 -Spending Triumphs and Advantages ... In which books can I find this?

Armor crafting is in Keeping the Peace. The rest is in Special Modifications.
