Is there software to run on a chromebook?

Doubtful, the generator would need to be redesigned pretty much from the ground up to work as a web app.

Since disciples of harmony has come out recently I've added in the new "teacher" specialization to the program - how do you connect it to a Career? and how do choose how much xp each talent is worth?

while i read through all the adversaries (for software parsing issues) i found some 'mistakes'.

  • Missing skills
  • Typos
  • Strange Data Handling (e.g. Adversary Special Armor attached to <Items>)

I know that you did a refactory of your xml data structure for all xml files in the data directory (Cleaned up the structure / added proper source handly, and more). So my question is will the adversaries also be refactored / cleaned up, too? When :D ?

What shall i do with all the 'mistakes' i found? Shall i collect them and send it to you, shall i refactor the adversary data myself and send you the result.

Will they never be changed :D ?

I've been plugging away at a custom data set for Disciples of Harmony; it's nowhere near finished, and has a few bugs (with the powers links so far), but is workable for simple settings. Descriptions where present are page references and I made the Cosian Encumbrance mod fluff text since I couldn't see quickly how to affect the encumbrance with the XML structure. This google drive link is the entire contents of the custom dataset.

Edit: Everything is in with page references other than the mentoring content. I also have a bug in the Ebb/Flow power where the links at the bottom of the tree don't behave. There are also probably plenty of mis-classifications in the vehicles and gear.

I wasn't planning to add detail beyond the default data set norms; it was mostly to stop-gap the consular additions until the tool catches up. Since others were also starting to comment about the changes, I figured it wouldn't hurt to offer it up. Once the DoH Sourcebook is included, it wouldn't be hard to adjust characters and remove the custom data set.

Found a misprinted text entry in InquisitorAbilities.xml under Imperial Valor. The first word is "Int" and should be "The". Not critical at all of course.

I don't know if this is a thing: Is it possible for us to create additional custom character sheet styles for use in the export function?

So last night I started working on a character. I shut it off to work on later. When I woke up and tried to access the same character on the same computer, I keep getting an Unhandled exception error. What's wrong with my computer?

Feature request: Would it be possible to add the ability to include an image for companions? Maybe the same system you have for vehicles where it defaults to the existing image if there is one (like when you create a companion from a "gear" droid or beast) or you can add one yourself? Hoping this would be easy to add since it would mostly be a copy-paste from the other places you have the same feature.

This is what I see in the details.

Seems like you might be having the same problem I did.

Go to the Launcher, and click on Data Folder. From there, go to Characters, scroll down to the very bottom, and open up the last two character files (listed by numbers) in either a text-editing program or a file browsing program. If the two entries are exactly identical, then odds are the file was accidentally saved in two separate places. Delete the one with the higher number. If they are not identical, then just skip to the next step without doing any deleting.

Close all active windows of the Character Generator and GM Tools (Data Editor can remain open). Click the 'Clear Cache' button. Then reopen both the Character Generator and GM Tools. You should be able to access the character again.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, how many characters do you have on that thing? I have around 260, and my generator has gotten finicky in a way that is similar to yours. I think OggDude's Generator isn't able to handle a high character volume, at least as-is.

Yeah it did thanks! I think the problems is caused by me doing the main creation on my lap top, then porting her over to my desktop for some editing, then back to my laptop.

Gotcha. Glad that I was able to help. :)

Are you using the import and export feature? You can't just copy the character XML into the Characters folder. Doing an import will make sure there's a unique name and that the cache gets updated properly.

If you are importing correctly, I'm not sure why it would add the same character twice. That's pretty weird. In any case, that Rigger error should be gone in the next release, since I added a check to make sure the list is valid.

Oh, finally got DoH, but I don't have tons of time to add it. This month is going to be pretty loaded for me, as I have obligations every weekend. I'll work on it when I can.

Not sure about Krystal2, but for me, simply changing a character's name and then saving it creates a second instance of it - and even if I don't change the name, editing and saving a character renders it inaccessible until I clear my cache and reload it. Though, again, I have over 260 characters, so maybe it's just that your generator can't handle high character volumes that well (at least not as-is).

I do use the import/export feature. I just haven't cleared the cache since I started using the program a few years ago.

I think some here manually added a lot of the data. So I am sure they can send that to you to save you time :)

I have manually added a race, edited a set of armor, and added an ARC-170 stats. Isn't that what the data editor is for?

I think Daeglan's referring to getting Disciples of Harmony data to Oggy, to make its addition easier on him.

Yep. When he came back from walkabout, I sent him a handful of datasets that I'd entered from the books that came out during that time. But, I've been slacking on getting DoH entered.
