Are you on Windows 10 with ClearType turned on? It actually looks fine on Windows 7. Not sure what the problem is there.

I didn't take the picture, but I am running windows 7 with ClearType on. I just checked the generator and sometimes spaces aren't displayed. No idea why, and when you highlight the text you can highlight the space but it's very small compared to other gaps. Posted an image below of an example and me highlighting the spaces.

I have enlarged the screen to 125% so that might be a factor.

I don't have the program in front of me at the moment, but I don't think there is such an option. I don't think there are any species in the game that have a defense bonus. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
That's extremely powerful for a racial ability. I personally wouldn't allow it in a game, or if somehow somebody convinced me it would have a hell of an exp point cost. Talents in the game that grant Defense are usually at the 20 or 25 pnt lvl and/or buried in the tree. Even then, those talents only gives the defense to melee or ranged, not both.

You can do it, it's just not supported in the editor. If you look at the XML, you'll see something like this:

Just add DefenseRanged and DefenseMelee tags, like this:

Just started using Fringer's Datapad as a complement to OggDude's awesomeness me tool. I have been looking for an iPad tool since Ogg released his first version. I can't find how to use the FaD GM Kit's lightsaber crafting rules (just add hard points) now; this is the first time I've tried since the Crafting upgrade. We used to be able to use either set of crafting rules

Just add the Lightsaber Hilt Construction Modifications attachment to a hilt, then pick the appropriate optional mods.

I couldn't find my own created species in the species folder but it is visible in the Data Editor. Only the ones which came through the updates are there. Should I look into an other folder?

It's in your <data folder>\DataCustom folder. If you added it to a data set, look in the data set folder under DataCustom.
Oggdude, have you thought about creating a "Game Mode" for GM's? I'd love to be able to 100% run a game from my laptop in meatspace, instead of having to print out the lovely encounter sheets and manually mark off wounds on the NPC's. It'd save me soooo much money on ink and paper.
OK, I'm encountering a glitch.
I tried creating a new character by copying an existing one, and all of a sudden when I open a new window, it has problems loading that character, and when I try loading another character, it crashes.
Windows that are already open work just fine, but no newly-opened windows work. Even trying to remove the offending character crashes the window.
Help?
EDIT: I even tried removing the offending character register from the Characters section of my Data Folder, and the problem still persists. Please help. I'm worried that when I shut down the computer tonight and turn it back on tomorrow morning, I won't be able to run the generator because of this issue.

To expand on the issue, what I was doing at the time was making multiple versions of a character to test different XP levels. Normally I would copy, adjust the name, save, close the window, open a new one, then make all the necessary edits, but this time I did the copy, I made the edits, I saved, and then I made another copy, and suddenly the errors start up.
I hope that helps with fixing the issue.
EDIT: To further elaborate on circumstances, when I went into my data folder and looked at the character entries, the offending character entry was labeled as Character 257, before I deleted it.

You have to start the app again after clearing the cache.

OK, I have a new problem. I was worried about this...
I tried activating the generator, after clearing the cache, but I'm getting the following message:
"Star Wars Character Generator has stopped working
A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
What now?
EDIT: OK, tried loading items, and everything seems to be working just fine now
Loaded the Data Editor, then the GM Tools, and then the Character Generator, and everything is working fine now.

is there a way to create weapon pairs for Adversaries that dual wield?
EDIT: Also, encountered an error. I have just upgraded to 2.2.0.0 recently and the Character Generator part was working fine, initially. Now, though, when I open it, the icon appears on the tray but I am unable to bring up the software on my desktop. (Windows 7)

OggDude, for some reason your generator has gotten super-finicky on my machine over the past couple of days.
It seems like every time I edit a character or make a new one, it causes a bug that prevents the character from loading from the list, forcing me to clear my cache and try again. I don't know if it's the number of characters I've created (currently at 257), or some glitch popping up, or what - and the past couple of times I've even had to close the launcher and delete the cache manually!!
And I come across so many different error messages while loading everything, from several generator-specific messages to Windows-generic ones. It seems like I'm getting every error message it's possible to get on your app
I have even cleared out the generator files and downloaded a fresh copy. It has not gotten rid of the hassle at all.
Any suggestions? Or is this going to need a version update?

I have a request with the GM Tools. There is one thing I am consistently doing during play when using the printouts for combat and that is forgetting to add in any Adversary upgrades. Im keeping so much going that I just miss it sometimes, not your fault but annoying anyway. So Id like to have the Adversary rank printed next to Soak, Wounds, and Defense sort of like the picture below. Is this possible because it would be really helpful
