It was also a popular fan-made supplement, which is why it's included. But, again, you can pick and choose whatever sources you'd like to use by going to "Options".

Since new weapons that just show up in ships like that don't have complete information, it ends up being guesswork to add them. The heavy proton torpedo launcher probably should be rarity 8. Normal proton torpedo launcher is a 3+ restriction on silhouette, so the heavy version should probably be 4+. And I don't have a price in it at all. Regular ones are 9000 credits, so a good guess on price would be about 11250, since price points seem to go up by 25% between light/medium/heavy versions of weapons.
It would be nice if FFG would include new weapons found on new ships in a nice list like they do in the CRBs. It would take the guesswork out of it.
In any case, I'll update the heavy proton torpedo launcher to be more complete.
Allowing a capital ship weapon like the heavy proton launcher to be installed in a YT-1300 is abusive. There is (Legends) pictorial evidence that the missiles themselves are silhouette 2 (or 3) in size. The launch tube is wider in diameter than a human being is tall. Just picturing trying to cram such a weapon into a light freighter boggles the mind. Medium turbolasers require silhouette 6+. The heavy protons should as well.

In the chart in the CRB, going from medium to heavy generally only adds one to the silhouette requirement. There's a couple of places where two is added between light and heavy, so I'll go with that. I don't want to make it too stringent since it limits what people can put on their ship.
Hey @OggDude . Nice to see you around the boards again. Now that signatures are disabled, have you put any thought to how you're going to keep the versions updated? I know some people posted earlier about some possible website hosting options. Of course, this thread seems to stay active enough that just editing the OP might be fine.

That's reasonable, I suppose. BTW, I had mixed up the assault concussion missile launcher (from the Victory II SD) with heavy proton launchers. It's the assault missiles and launchers that are enormous (way larger than man-sized). You might want to look at those as well. Their rarity (also 6) and complete lack of restriction also seems out of balance, and it's those that should be silhouette 6+, since you only find them on cruisers and SDs.

About all I have to do is update the documentation, since 1.8 has a bunch of new features. Other than that, I think I'm finished. No more running in compatibility mode on Win10
New fonts are all working, too, although I couldn't get a TTF version of ITC Symbol Std Medium (what the books use). Converted OTF fonts look horrible with ClearType, but I did find a free sans serif font that looks very similar and actually displays much better than the ITC font, so I'm sticking with that one. The other fonts look good, and the overall style of the generator matches much better with the books; I think everyone will like it.
I've added Special Modifications and Forged in Battle. I have Endless Vigil and Friends Like These, but those will be for the 1.8.1 release (it's been too long as it is since 1.7). I looked for No Disintegrations in the dealer's room at the con I went to this past weekend, but nobody had it. So that one might have to wait.
It sucks that they took out signatures. I can modify the OP to include both the web install and manual links, and in the announcement post, I'll also include both links. Legends was nice enough to add a download page accessible from www.oggdude.com , but the problem is getting the word out so people can find it. Everyone knows about this forum topic, so this will still be the main point of entry to get the generator.

I was thinking... It would be nice to have things like the Jedi Utility belt come in 2 versions. Full and empty. So if one buys the full version the other items are added automatically. Same for the crash survival kit.

For example: compare the information in the app for Heal/Harm against that in the book.

Well, the empty version of a Jedi utility belt would really just be a regular utility belt. For the full versions, listing out all the individual components probably treads onto the same legal ice as including the descriptions of what various talents do.

The generator doesn't come with any information about any FP or upgrade (or anything else for that matter). It has them all, but has generic "See page xxx" descriptions for them. This is due to copyright concerns, and to promote purchase of the books.
So, if you're seeing descriptions, and you didn't enter them yourself, then you probably downloaded and installed a data set from somewhere. I have no control over what people put in their data sets, so if there's a discrepancy, you might want to tell the person who created it so it can be fixed.

Plus, I'd have to create a new concept such as an "equipment set" or "package" or something like that, which would be a named "item" that contains a list of other items. When I do things like that, not only do I have to write the code to support it and the GUI to display it, but also have it supported in the data editor. I like the idea of an item "package", but with three new books needing entry, and new code that will pop up from them, it would unfortunately have to be toward the end of my priority list. Sorry, I should have been more clear on the issue... not the text (totally understand copyright issue) but the layout of the tree and the cost of the abilities.
For example: the book says 15 for the basic heal/harm, the application says 10. Also, the book has more abilities listed then the application.

Another option would to be to just add an item called "Jedi utility belt (empty)" or something similar. Not saying that you should Oggy, just saying the player can. That sort of niche thing is what the data editor is for IMO. Given all the book data that needs updating, this seems solidly in the "nice to have" camp.
