But I think, that it is very annoying, that you need to look everything up in the rulebooks.

May I just put in the descriptions of the talents or are there legal consequences or so on?

You can put in all the descriptions you want (for you own usage). That is the point of the Data Editor. However, Oggy cannot ship the descriptions with the program because that violates the FFG copyright on the material.

This is understandable. FFG would loose revenue if everyone could get all the information from a free program instead of buying the books.

Does any one have any ideas for using this generator with a Mac. Or issues with adobe reader with generator? I have seen the results of this program and it is awesome, hope to get it working on my PC.

Hey Oggy!

After the latest update to the generator I found I could not open it, thus resorting to opening in compatibility mode. (I am running Windows 8)
Now after attempting to open my character in the generator, I am presented with the following message:

I have spoken to my GM about this, and he can open my character completely fine, it just seems to be myself currently.
Any suggestions of fix would be appreciated

Does any one have any ideas for using this generator with a Mac. Or issues with adobe reader with generator? I have seen the results of this program and it is awesome, hope to get it working on my PC.

There are some posts in this trhead about using it with a Mac. Search is your friend.

I have used this to print to PDF but that is not possible with Adobe Reader.

I am entirely impressed with the work you have done. I am a student of Computer Science and Industrial Automation at Bakersfield College. I recently launched a gaming club to continue with the benevolent work that I started while I was Director of Student Organizations last year. Suggestion for a future release.

When you are selecting characters to add to a group, put in a drop box that allows you to pick a campaign to choose the character's from. That would be a lot easier than sifting through the entire list of characters that are in the generator.

I do not see some things that are missing:

1- Force and Destiny- protect/unleash tree

This should really be added!

I seem to be unable to access the Force Powers Battle Meditation, Bind and Protect/Unleash in the Character Generator even though they are listed in the Data Editor. Is anybody else having this problem? Not sure if it's because I'm on windows 10, but I am running the most current version of the editor.

All of these have a Force Requirement of 2+, so if your character only has 1 Force Point, then they will not see them, as they cannot purchase them. If you give the character another Force Point, then they should be there.

You need to have a Force Rating of 2 or more for Protect/ Unleash

Hey Oggy!

After the latest update to the generator I found I could not open it, thus resorting to opening in compatibility mode. (I am running Windows 8)

Now after attempting to open my character in the generator, I am presented with the following message:

I have spoken to my GM about this, and he can open my character completely fine, it just seems to be myself currently.

Any suggestions of fix would be appreciated

Version 1.8 is not complete, but did you try clearing your cache?

i think I had to open up a previous version, Clear the cache then open up version 1.8. If you are windows 10 you will need to set it to run in compatibility mode with windows 7 also. And you might have to set the Character Generator to run in compatibility mode also.

As of right now 1.8 is just for testing so for actual use you should be using 1.7.1 or earlier.

I do not see some things that are missing:

1- Force and Destiny- protect/unleash tree

This should really be added!

Protect/Unleash is in the character generator, it requires a force rating of 3 or higher. If the character does not have a force rating of 3 or higher you will not be able to see it. *Beep* This is a recording.

Sorian Gem on a Double-Bladed Lightsaber seems to switch the weapon type. After adding it, one can only modify the weapon with a Shaped Nozzle and Lightsaber Hilt Construction.

Sorry for the double, post, new users can't modify posts awaiting moderation, but it would seem that adding the lightsaber hilt construction modifers allows for attachements to be added to the hilt as required, is this working as intended?

I believe the Sorian Gem requires 4 hard points to install, and a double-bladed 'saber hilt only has 4 hard points available. So the program's working correctly, since that one crystal has used up all of the hilt's available hard points.

I was also wondering if you plan to take care of items with 0 encumbrance? The Core book says that 10 items with 0 enc is equal to 1 enc.

Also my GM uses the house rule to get into a specialization all you need to do is buy two ranks from two different class skills in that same Spec. I was wondering if there is a way to pick a Spec. without buying it with Xp. Thanks again.
