Another Character Generator

By OggDude, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

If the checkbox isn't checked (which is the default), then it looks like it did before, except for me stacking the + and - buttons. With it checked, it'll display the injury column and allow you to change it. If the final value is red, then you know that you have an injury.

Dude.

If you keep this up, you’re going to force me to install Windows in a VM, just so that I can run your program. :D

Hey Dude...If you look at the NPC droids, it has for the Astromech droids that it comes w/ an Arc Welder [melee; dmg 3; crit -; range [engaged]; stun dmg] There isnt this item in the gear, so could you add it??

Can't wait until this next update...2 WEAPONS!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!!

Feature request (or maybe I don't know how to apply it).

Today, in my second play session ever, my character was hit with a Gruesome Injury crit. This reduces a characteristic (determined by die roll) permanently by 1 to a minimum of 1. My willpower is now permanently -1. I don't see a way to reduce a characteristic, except for one that you originally increased at the time of creation, but then reducing it gives the XP you spent on it back.

Is there a way to reduce a characteristic that I am missing? If not, can it be added somehow? I'm still pretty new, so I don't know how common effects like this are in regards to coming from other sources, but perhaps you can simply add a Gruesome Injury field somewhere, with a drop down to select the characteristic affected.

It really wouldn't matter that much, but this affects my strain threshold and dice pool for all skills associated with the affected characteristic, making the sheet print out inaccurate.

Yeah, I know about this one. I've thought about adding something for this, maybe an "Injury" column to the right of the characteristic that lets you choose how many to remove. I'd have to create another characteristic source called something like "Injury" which wouldn't change the XP cost, but would decrease the characteristic.

I'll give it some thought. Personally, I think a permanent stat reduction like that is heinous, and the end result is a massive loss of XP, especially if a stat was raised through Dedication. Dedication doesn't grow on trees... well, yeah, I guess it sorta does, but still :) you have to spend so much to get down to it, only to have it just vanish. If there was a way to get the characteristic back, that would be different.

Here's what this one looks like:

That looks awesome. Thank you for implementing this.

It should show up under weapons. You can even click the Shown box to have it displayed on the first page.

It is not in Weapons or Gear my friend.

I think you missed that boat by about 12 months. :D

If FFG would be willing to pays the bills, I'd be more than happy to translate it to Silverlight, or anything else for that matter :)

I just added Debts to Pay. I'll add Arda I next.

Anything else anybody wants in the next version? Other than homesteads? :)

I'm a few pages behind, so apologies if its already been addressed, but will manual adjustment of Force Rating be in the next update?

>SNIP<

Again, I'm not concerned with gear sets; I don't want to have to print out 12 pages of potential gear sets my character might end up using. I know other people have asked for gear sets (like in WoW) and that might help, but all I'm asking is to align the encumbrance stat of all the gear in such a way that it's easier to calculate by hand after printing it all out and changing gear on the fly

By the way, I forgot to show you how I did this. Is this how everyone wanted this to look?

Yes! Exactly!

Thank you! :D

The Beta updates to Force and destiny. We should get another on Tuesday.

Oh and you should include the stuff from Stay on Target. Yeah I know its not out...I don't wanna hear excuses :P

been entering data and under specialization I noticed you list the talent tree pages and not the description page. For example Bounty Hunter Assassin you list page 59 and description is on page 57, and Agitator says page 80 of the Age book and description is on page 77.

My thought would be to list the description page # but that's just me. Keep up the good work, like others I really appreciate what you have done.

I do not know what you mean about Arc Welder...If the item isnt in the list how can you show the tool??

Does anybody know where to find a description of the Idealist Talent ? In Oggy's tool it is mentionned on p.62 of the Jewel of Yavin but I can't find it

Thx

I am AFB, but I believe one of the NPCs on that page has it. Check the talent section for each adversary.

If I'm not mistaken, the manual Force rating feature was to allow FaD specializations to be purchased. However, FaD specializations do not require a Force rating. Only using Force talents requires a Force rating.

Yeah, it's Pos Podura, right at the top.

Innate weapons don't show up in the Weapons grid because they're not typically individual items. For instance, "unarmed" is just your fists, the Ithorian "Bellow" is an ability, and the arc welder is just part of the astromech droid. Clicking on "Shown", however, will list it on the first page of the character sheet.

More thanks goes out to Marco Braga for his kind donation! I'll let you know when I get that beer ;)

I'm in a game right now in which the GM awarded us all a free point of Force Rating instead of a Lightsaber for Knight Level play. (And also to help stress-test high-level Force powers). So my options were to either just leave my Force Rating one point short on my character sheet or (and this is what I did) create a variant Human that started with an inherent FR of 1. It'd be nice to be able to manually tool about with Force Rating for various house rulings like that.

Talent.xml for F&D?

Hey Ogg, great tool here! Tried modding weapons recently and noticed there is no option to reduce the cost of either the attachment or each mod (using Gearhead talent, for example). Not a big deal, since this is the first shopping spree and they neither bothered nor was I prepared for negotiating prices and I just manually altered their credits.

Also noticed the Training Lightsaber Emitter is shown as Restricted. The book says that it is legal.

FYI Force and Destiny has significant changes to the trees. Some talents were removed and some were shuffled around.

Edit: Didn't read your post correctly :) I'll get back to this one.

Edit 2: OK, it's what I thought. When you purchase attachments and mods, it brings up the standard purchase dialog that allows you manipulate the price in tons of different ways, including standard discounts and markups, your own percentage, or just entering in your own price. If you're not seeing this dialog, then you may be adding (or clicking "Finish"), rather than purchasing.
