Has anybody heard from Oggdude recently?
So as it turns out, when I backed out of the Data Editor, it gave me a warning that unsaved changes would also be lost. Since the changes were unintended in the first place, closing without saving seems to have dodged the bullet for me. Mostly. There were some specific Talents and things for which I'd entered descriptions that had to be re-entered, but I made it out the other side without anything game-breaking. I have since created a backup and don't foresee further problems. I even migrated the whole thing to a new computer without issue.
The responses were helpful and greatly appreciated. This is one of the most consistently helpful forums I've ever been on.
So, one of my PC's didn't have the latest version of the ChatGen that had the content from RoS, he had apparently downloaded it just before that content was added. So I had him save his Datacustom folder and Character folder, and delete the rest of the stuff so he could redownload the gen with the new content, without it conflicting with anything. While doing so we found out that the downloads (both manual and web version) are down? They say that the file location has changed, or is temporality down. Has it been like this for awhile, or will this be fixed soon? I, thankfully, still have the ZIP folder from when I downloaded the launcher last, so I hopefully should be able to just send him that and recover everything on his end, but it has me pretty scared that I just screwed with one my players ability to, well, play.

Did you download them from Oggs Bio here on the Forum? Just did it - worked fine.

No, I was using Legends of the Galaxy, but the bio works, thank you!
That said, LoG still seems to be down, and the web install doesn't work for the bio either.

Yes! In the GM Tools, you have to add the characters to a Group. Then open that Group and you can "Toggle All" on the right side and click Reward in the middle. It'll add XP to all characters in the group.
FYI: The Group sheet it prints can be
really
useful during game. If you Include Character Details, it shows you who has how many ranks in which skills, plus their core combat stats, all on the same page.
(EDIT: This is also where you can add a Group Obligation or Duty. I don't know if that's common, but I use it for the Group Obligation in my game.)
Thank you. That should help to correct a mishap we had in the group if I'm ever allowed back in.
I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not.
When creating a Group Sheet, the Morality table appears to be using the Beta version, where it was tied to a d10 roll. In Force and Destiny, it's d100 roll just like Obligation and Duty, with the closest Morality value being triggered.
Not a game-breaking issue or anything, just something I noticed because I use the Group sheet a lot for my game. I have no idea how/where to fix this, so I thought I'd post here.
So my computer with oggdude web download is kaput. I'm guessing that I've lost my characters...

Depends on where your stored your characters and if the drive is actually dead. Probably not.

Depends on how your computer is "kaput". I've taken the drive from a dead system, and put it in my dock, and was able to save much of the data. Even when it was the hard drive that failed. If it's just a failure in the boot area, even so bad as it will not accept an operating system, much of the rest of the data should be ok. If the failure of the computer is anywhere EXCEPT the hard drive, then it shouldn't be hard at all to recover data, especially if you know what you want, and where to look for it.

the extended hilt lightsaber attachment by RAW *only* adds +1 damage *when* the saber is wielded in two hands making it a one or two handed weapon. This isn't reflected on the weapon stat line produced by your generator. This is actually relevant for being able to use both unarmed parry (martial artist/steelhand adept talent which requires at least one free hand to use, dev clarification on the order 66 podcast "bounty hunting for fun and profit" episode) and extended reach (force adherent talent specifies a two handed "melee" weapon with a lower case "m", brawl is excluded despite being one or two handed because there are no two handed brawl weapons) and I added a dual phase attachment for narrative justification to back up the RAW
the other example of handedness being determined by an attachement is the pistol grip for ranged heavy, which I looked at in the data editor and the mod was add a setback when used in one hand rather than directly adding a handedness option, so I couldn't borrow a mod from it.
otherwise in the data editor handedness seems to be set by the weapon, and I couldn't find where the crafting templates were in the data editor to add a one or two handed lightsaber hilt template with one fewer hp and an extended hilt as an inbuilt attachment... so I wasn't able to do that work around (because the saber in question has fine tuned emitter and personalized design crafting upgrade in addition to superior attachment)
now it's just my attention to detail and it really doesn't affect anything else in the generator as far as I can tell, but if you have the time to add it to the extended hilt it'd be appreciated.

I put a energy buckler on an automated weapon mount and... it unequipped the energy buckler which decreased the carried encumbrance by 2 and decreased ranged defense from 4 to 3 (melee defense was still maxed out). Is that intended behavior?
Been a few years since I used this last. Are all the books present or are there some missing?

Definitely not included: Collapse of the Republic (but it's supposed to be the next sourcebook to be added), Dawn of Rebellion , Allies and Adversaries (e.g., official stats for Lasat, Jawa, Tusken Raiders, Ewoks), Gadgets and Gear , and Starships and Speeders . (I don't know how much new stuff is in those last two books.)
Possibly not included: Chronicle of the Gatekeeper , Ghosts of Dathomir , and most of the other book-length adventures (I don't have them myself, so I don't know if anything from those books should be included, like new species and gear).

I believe ghosts and gatekeeper are in as are all of the career books
Rise of Seperatists is in. and i believe Dawn of Rebellion is in.

Dawn of Rebellion is not included yet, unless a user has added the data manually.

Hi Folks,
I've seen reference in the version update notes (via extensive web searches) to vehicle crafting mods (ex. Fully Operational p81, Single Ion Coil Engine, "Modification Options: 3 increase speed by one (to a maximum of 6) Mods"). I don't, however, see any way to do this in the character generator. I've read through the help and am able to craft a vehicle using the four stages and have successfully added my adv and tri earned Effects, but have no clue how to manage the mods for the vehicle components (

: NOT the attachment mods, this works perfectly and in the same way as weapon crafting).
I feel like I'm missing something obvious but I've given up trying to find it on my own.

EDIT UPDATE: I Found the issue. I was changing the silhouette as a crafting option of the frame and was not going back to change the assembly type on the first screen of the crafting wizard. This seems to have bugged the vehicle so that the components (ex Engine) were not coming up as attachments. After I made a vehicle without the Elegant Design feature, it worked perfectly.

I would create a third. look at each entry copy the better one to this new one. rinse repeat
