Anyone having a problem creating a Guardian? I get the dreaded JIT error.

Hello!

I've been a long-time follower of this thread but haven't ever asked a question. I'm using my Data Editor to and Google to try to find an answer to this question but I've had zero luck! Does anyone know why there appears to be a Scattergun showing in the Equipment - Weapons tab for characters? Not all of my created characters have this, so I am thinking the Scattergun is freely tied to some other equipment or career or specialization that I cannot see, OR it is some default selection in the Data Editor when I created some other data within it.

Does anyone have any help for me with this? The Scattergun cannot be removed from my character Equipment tab either.

Just tried to add some XP to a character and the generator is no longer giving the option under rewards.. am I missing something?

If you haven't already, close and relaunch the program. It's still showing and there has not been any new updates

I'm having some problems getting custom talents to save properly, trying to add in the Force Sensitive Outcast and the new talents for that are being problematic.

specifically one that gives me Lightsaber and Lore as career skills, and Renegade Form which lets me choose which characteristic to use for lightsaber.

after i'm done editing the talent and i save the custom information, in the regular character editor it does nothing, it doesn't save the information i'm putting in.

anybody know how to fix this?

sorry to necro this one. I'm in the process of adding a custom species to this program's data set editor.

How do you add a "special ability" to a species? i.e. how humans can gain 2 non-career skills during character creation.

you have to save the item. then you have to save the the changes to the file. then you have to close the chracter generator and reopen it. The generator only loads new stuff on start.

I'm having trouble with the Encounter Builder in GM Tools; the only Adversaries that show up to be added to the encounter are my PCs. No stormtroopers, droids, minions, whatever. How do I get the GM Tools to show the any baddies?

Have you imported any from the included xml files or added any of your own?

Oh, do i have to import everything I want individually? I thought it would prepopulate with all the default ones. Thanks for the heads up

OggDude has included the existing NPCs in folders included within the software, allowing you to import what you wish and ignore what you don't want to include. You can import everything (like I have) and add every new published NPC (like I have), making for a heavily populated Adversary listing, or just import what you think you'll need (making for a faster GM Tools load time).

Yeah i think the last time I was using the encounter builder was many many moons ago when it was all in by default. I haven't GMd in YEARS lol

So... after a couple years hiatus I'm getting back into the game. My original install of this awesome program was on a ASUS tablet/laptop. It has since died. I thought I had backed up everything.

Since I own all the books I actually spent the time to add the skill and talent descriptions into the database so I didn't have to constantly pull a huge stack of books while using the program. Well, all my characters, encounters, ships groups, etc. they all imported from my back up but the most time consuming, painfully tedious, addition is gone!

Has been as ridiculous as me and added this info into their database and willing to share it with me?

There is a git repository if you google around of some of the content. But, I find it is very lacking in a lot of areas. I used to use the big dataset from the old bigtent forums, but if it's hosted somewhere else or if it is even maintained and up to date.

Is there a way to create a minion group of companions on that tab in the character creator?

If the Git repository you mean is https://gitlab.com/rikus01/SWDataSet-OggDudes , then I know that that one has the Bigtent dataset, because I imported it from the last release ever made on bigtent before it went down. If there's more lacking, well, it's a Git repository: you can edit it yourself. GitLab makes that easy even if you're not a programmer and don't know how to use Git: every file has an Edit button that will let you edit it live (or paste new contents from your hard disk), which turns into a "merge request" that the repository's owner can approve. Once he approves it, it gets merged into the repository and anyone who grabs a copy will have a copy with your edits. So if there's anything lacking from that repo besides the Bigtent dataset, you can help fix the lack.

i8 thought you could create an encounter but that didnt work and there is no field for you to specify number of minions. probably a useful option that shoukld be added.

Are there any Rise of the Separatist or Collapse of the Republic datasets out there, and if there are where can I find them?

while I was creating a character, one of the skills, Mechanics in this case, has 6 dice. 2 yellow, 2 green, and black with white and red in the middle. what are those two black dice for or are they just a bug/glitch?

I think I'm missing something with the creator as to how Obligation works. If I have a group size of 3, starting Obligation should be 15 per player. So I set Size to 3 and Starting Size (which I assume is starting obligation size per PC) to 15. All of the options below that are unable to be selected. What am I missing here?

set it to the starting obligation amount not the party size
