Another Character Generator

By OggDude, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So I uninstalled it and did a clean install, lets hope this works. May the Force serve you well.

Is there any way to look at entries in the data editor to include the source dataset? It's rather annoying to have to jump between datasets cleaning things up and checking for duplicates. If we could get a dataset column on the list it would help a lot.

Also, I haven't been able to figure out how to add description only entries. Did I miss a tutorial on that somewhere?

Thanks!

So I tried to start the character generator after adding descriptions for the careers, weapons, vehicles, etc. in it and get this message.

It does seem to load on the equipment and such fine. It just has this issue when it comes to the characters. I can click continue and look at gear, obligation, all of that. But I can't see any of my previous characters and selecting new character just brings up this message again.

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Weird question, not sure if anyone would know. I'm currently trying to add the DC-17m Blaster for a Clone Commando NPC I'm making. Similar to the AB-75 Bo-Rifle, I'm trying to have multiple "Profiles" for the weapon appear when you equip it. Unfortunately in the Data Editor, both for the Bo-Rifle and just in general, there seems to be no indication/setting to have a weapon have multiple profiles. It's also strange that the melee mode profile can't even be found in the Data Editor, at least in the Weapons section. Does anyone here know how to find it? Or how to add custom weapon profiles to weapons? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

How about just a adding a custom melee weapon called "Bo-Rifle (melee)" with 0 cost and 0 encumbrence? I don't think this thing is set up to handle morphing weapons.

I did just that for the DC-17m because I ran out of options. I did some digging in the XML Weapons files and found that the Bo-Rifle has a custom profile toggled to be added to inventory when equipped so it 100% is entirely possible through some coding but not through the program itself. Hopefully OggDude adds this as a later feature, but I understand it's rather minor.

Hello all,

When I print the sheet group for my PCs, I only have 4 of them (they are 5). Anyone have the problem?

Thx for help!

I found a bug:

The inventory of a Base is not saved when the Group is updated. You can see the inventory when the Base is saved, but once the Group is updated, all inventory disappears.

Is this the right place to report it?

Edit: Transferring inventory from the Group to the Base works fine, however. It's only when the inventory is added from the Base window.

Feature Request: I'd like to request an option be added if it's not overly difficult to add with Signature Abilities. As a GM, I end up being a bit more lenient on these if it fits the character concept. Can you add an option to purchase out of career SAs or an option to GM Gift a career which would then enable those SAs for the character?

I would never do this as it can completely unbalance a game but I actually do like the idea of having a feature like this, make it happen Ogg!

Does anyone have custom Oggdude datasets updated with the era splat books?

If so would you mind sharing?

You could always go into the data editor and add it to that career.

Thanks. I pride myself of generally thinking of workaround to problems and just never thought about that and I work in Data Editor all the time

I've found an issue, not sure if its ever been addressed or talked about. But attachments for beasts are listed as for Mounts. However all beasts are either listed as Riding Beasts or Trainable Beasts, not Mounts, so these attachments, like Saddlebags or the Pannier Modular Cargo Handling System, can never be added or even viewed when buying equipment. They exist in the data, just can't be accessed except in the Data Editior.

hopefully im not stupid but how do i increase force rating on this builder i cant find it to save my life

You have it installed to your dropbox.

I can't figure out how to remove it. When I ran the .exe I got an error message that listed the location, but when I searched for the location, it pulls up an internet explorer window with an error message.

I apparently have nothing in my drop box. Appreciate the help, but I'm out of ideas. Maybe I'll just stick with the manual install. >.<

If you did the web install then it is in add remove programs.

Oh, well now I feel dumb. But, hey, it worked! Thanks so much.

Earlier this week I went in and updated a few characters, and now they do not appear on the list on the characters tab. I tried reinstalling the program files and that didn't work. I can see that they are still there in the character data folder, but when I try and import them it says they are not a valid character. Any idea how I can open them again?

I am trying to create a Mod for ships, but can't get it to work right. The main mod adds 1HP and Decrease the Encumbrance Threshold by 20, I want to add the capability of taking it up to four more times. I can add the HP to it just fine, but when I add the Decreased Encumbrance Threshold it only does it by 1. is there anyway to make this work?

So quick question, how do I get a user created Force Power Tree to show up in the Character Creation section?

It shows up in the GM editor, but I want to be able to screenshot the talent tree from it, and also build a character with it to test for balance.

I have the user data selected to be used, but it's not showing up.

EDIT: Nevermind, forgot to set the correct Force Rating for the character.
