2: Ok, so I get an automatic 10 Obligation just for existing, which was what I thought my Bounty was for, then I’d have to take the actual Bounty at Obligation 10 for a total of 20, correct?

1: Super briefly: the data editor (one of the programs you can select from the character creator's launch screen) allows you to modify the data set which holds the information about talents, careers, species, etc. Launch it, select careers on the left side of the screen, pick the first career you want to change, click modify, and then adjust the number of career skills on the pop-up that appears. Do the same for all the base careers, one by one.

There's a manual for the generator, you'll have to consult it for more detail. I've only used the data editor very sporadically.

2: The basic 10 Obligation points are for a specific Obligation you choose. You can either raise the value of that initial Obligation, or take a second Obligation, to get your total up to 20. So you could have Bounty 10 and Criminal 10. Or you could have just a single Obligation of Bounty 20.

Hi Oggy,

I've been having some trouble with the Skill Characteristic feature while making new talents.

If I define an alternative characteristic for a skill under a talent, the data editor doesn't seem to save it. When I open the custom talent again in the data editor, it doesn't seem to retain the skill characteristic options.

The same problem occurs if I open any talent that's already defined in the data set. For example, if I go into the Ataru Technique talent, it shows the entry for Lightsaber and Agility the first time I open it. But when I re-open the talent after that, it loses this feature.

This problem happened on both the manual install of 2.3.2 as well as the web install. This also persisted in whichever dataset I used.

Is this a persisting bug? Could it be rectified in the next release?

Is there a workaround I could use in the mean time, because I need to be able to define a talent like this for a game I am running (and, not to mention, undo the problem for the Ataru Technique talent).

@OggDude , this probably got lost in my admittance of oversight earlier, but I've been having this issue for several releases now.

Still having an issue with Lightsaber skill in the GM Tools. I'll make an NPC as a character and choose a Lightsaber Style. The regular character sheet will show correct, but if I go into the GM Tools and view them there, it will always revert Lightsabers to Brawn. Hopefully this one is just as much my error than an actual issue.

Below is an image I put together from the compact sheet (top) and the GM Tools Stat Block (bottom). This happens regardless of character or lightsaber style.

Also the Jedi holocron group resource only lists the new holocrons from Unlimited Power are listed in the drop down. none of the core book ones are there anymore.

So I am still seeing this error. It is in the Group editor. The Core Holocrons show up in the Character generator. But they don't show up in the Group editor resource page. I double checked the options.

I think i figured out the issue. The Core Book Holocrons are listed under the category Holocron/Ancient Lore and the Dai Bendu Holocrons is listed as Holocron. And I bet the Group Tool keys off of Holocron but not Holocron/ Ancient Lore. So the 2 Holocrons in Unlimited Power come up but the core book ones don't

@OggDude just a thought that I had and I’m not sure if it would be easy to implement. Is it possible to add an “ignore limitations” option to the options menu that would essentially allow us to free build a character however we saw fit, please? Thank you very kindly for all the work you do.

You already can. The generator allows you to so to ignore limitations

Im sorry for asking this 3 times already, but want to know if I should keep editing XMLs or I can just stockpile things and wait for an update.. Are we getting schematics in the data editor? I really want those xD Thanks in advance!

From what read from the flavor text extra successes on the stealth check to get close to the victim before the strike adds +1 damage per success to increase the odds of taking a rival or nemesis down.

@OggDude Hello I have followed your Google Group link but get a #418 error stating I do not have access. Do I need an invite to access it? I understand you are very busy so take your time getting back to me. Also I run your standard application from a Dropbox folder. I would like to reinstall using the web version so it always updates, do you think the syncing with Dropbox would cause any issues?

I added a new vehicle to the generator but whenever I select it the thing crashes. I looked at the error report and couldn't find what was causing the issue.

So I found that when adding talents like Pilot Training (Cyphers and Masks), Secrets of the Jedi (Dawn of Rebellion), Secrets of the Force and Renegade Form (Rise of the Separatists) through the Data Editor, it's not saving my selections for the new career skills that each talent is supposed to grant, or the list of characteristics to be chosen from with Renegade Form.

As anyone else run into this problem?

I am running into an issue with some of those talents where I set them to incidental click force power and add conflict like it should for Ravage but then it reverts back to passive without a force power

Yeah, it seems that the data editor isn't saving any of the selections made when loading in talents apart from source.

Yes. I was trying to create a talent to add the Jawas ability to use Cunning for negotiation and it wouldn't save the choice

I also have problems with the new talents, some options do not save like force talent or that the talent grants a career skill. I would have to go to xml and edit the new talent there to have it correctly.

It seems NicoDavout that you are in the same boat as Donovan myself and probably many others with the generator not letting the talents stay with the setting we put when adding them.
