It's been known to happen with a number of different fan-made character generators, where the creator just hits that point where they're no longer interested in the game in question.

From what he's said about the coding, he might also have decided that it'd be easier to start fresh using what he's learned from this and build a new version from the ground up where the code isn't quite the mess the current version is.

Actually, I'm going to be running "Echoes of the Past", a Peter Mitchell adventure, at DunDraCon next year. My generator got a workout from me, so I've been making various tweaks to it. I did add part of Unlimited Power so I'd have the extra specs, but I haven't finished it yet. When I have the time, I'll finish adding at least UP and do another release.

I bought a 11x14" whiteboard on Amazon for something like $6, plus $12 for 50 of the magnets (out of which I'm using 20). I then designed and printed up the graphics, pasted it to the whiteboard, then printed up a sheet of the light/dark destiny markers, punched them out with a 1" round punch, and glue-sticked them to the magnets. I put tape on the bottom of the magnets because ferrite leaves black smudges and I didn't want to smear my background. Finally, I bought a small 10" tabletop wooden easel for under $10 to hold it. You can see the easel at the bottom of the picture.

So... maybe $20 worth of material and a little creativity

This may be on of the more weird requests.

Currently when importing a new data set, the compressed data set and the first folder inside the data set have to follow a specific naming convention. For example; the compressed file has to be named "SWDataSet-(*****)". While the first folder inside the data set also has to be named "Dataset_(*****)".

The difference in the two naming conventions has caused some problems when sharing data sets between users. The naming convention for the compressed file is not an issue. However the naming convention for the first folder inside the data set is.

Is it possible to either remove the naming convention restriction for the first folder inside the data set or make it so it matches the naming convention for the compressed data set. For example, both the file and folder have to be "SWDataSet-(*****)".

Lastly, we have noticed we are unable to import data sets if that data set was compressed by Win10. However, if the data set was compressed with *.tar or *.rar, there are no issues. Not sure why that is.

Just tonight, I have started getting an error every time I try to load a character that crashes the entire system. This is the first time it's happened; I am loading from the Web Loader.

I get the same error after installing the new dataset from google, so I assume the mistake is there if you had also installed it. Worked fine with the dataset from the chargen itself. Once I copied the old dataset back into the folder, the errors disappeared for me.

If you're getting this error, then I'm guessing you put the data into the program's data folder (where the EXE's are and such).

They need to go into;

c:\users\#UserName#\AppData\Roaming\SWCharGen\DataCustom

(I ran into the same problem and this was the fix. You need to get the default data back into the program's folder, either from the original ZIP file or a backup you made before trying the updated data sets

Use the Data Editor to install data sets. You don't need to do any copying of files yourself.

I'm getting that error too, but it's showing up when I try to put attachments on a few pieces of armor, not sure how to fix it or what I'm doing wrong.

I imported the files through the data editor, I haven't messed with any files manually.

I'm kind of computer illiterate so any help would be appreciated .

Like the white board for the destiny points. I ended up making some aluminum tokens for ours. Half anodized black with square edges and cut out symbols in white, other half rounded edge with black text for light side, coated in clear coat to prevent too many scratches.

Did you get the remaining books you were missing Oggy and that conjure power is quite good well worth the cost especially if the character is skilled with melee or brawn weapons.

Do you have alchemical crafting? I've got 2 characters with an amulet of protection.
