Sorry, I cant find the crafting options for LIGHTSABERS there. Those from the F&D-Gamemaster-Book do not match with them in the program.

Apologies. I didn't notice you were asking about lightsabers.

I can't get the character generation to open. The other apps all open but not the character generation. Any ideas how I fix this?

What version are you using ?
I just downloaded it yesterday so whatever the current version is.
Edited by murlacherSo, I have some old characters that I'm not going to use and when I try and remove them I get an "Unhanded Exception" error. Is there a way to edit/change the list of characters showing outside of the app by editing files? I'm running 2.2.0.0.

"Clear the cache".
As an IT guy I should have tried that earlier...

- What is the purpose of the Stock Vehicles section?
- What kind of reports are you running that are useful?
- What are your favorite features?

Thanks in advance,

I use the Encounters section and I like it. I tend to have to take the existing encounters and alter them for my group (earned XP for each character broke 1000 just before the New Year). It's great to be able to put in those tweaks quickly and easily.
We also use the Group Section. It is very useful to award the XP, trade gear between characters, keep track of Obligation, Duty, and Morality. And if you check the "Show member details" button when you are printing, you get a list of their skills, so you can make opposed checks without having to ask what a given skill is, so if they fail they don't even realize they missed something.
Awesome Program!
Thought I would raise it here in case you have not seen it. People have only just realised that there has been an update to the errata and FAQ of all three books that was posted on the 30th Jan. I will do a follow-up post with all changes that will impact the generator consolidated into one place for ease of use.
Edited by EbakSomething odd that I've recently run into:
I keep my custom data on a network drive so it can be access by my desktop, laptop, and my wife's laptop. Everything's worked as expected so far.
A few months ago, one specific custom ship that I added (completely from scratch, not modifying details of an existing ship) wouldn't display. No big deal...I copied the xml file to the main data folder (on all three computers), problem solved.
In the past couple of weeks, though, a handful of random items with custom data stopped displaying the custom data. The xml files are there with the added details, but those details don't display. I've cleared cache, removed the DataCustom folder from the local drive, but they're still not displaying. The problem exists across the multiple computers. On one, I've even uninstalled/reinstalled with no luck.
First, a bug I have noticed while doing this.
Here are things the FAQ and Errata mentions that might need to be changed in the generator on your side @OggDude
Now for the big one. So much so that I decided to quote it verbatim from the errata. All three errata (EotE, AoR, FaD) have updated and changed the way defence works:
“A character’s defense rating can be classified as one of three types: general defense rating, melee defense rating, or ranged defense rating. A general defense rating applies against all combat checks directed against the character. A melee defense rating only applies against close combat checks directed against the character (Brawl, Lightsaber, and Melee checks). A ranged defense rating only applies against ranged combat checks directed against the character (Gunnery, Ranged [Light], and Ranged [Heavy] checks).
There are two sources of defense: sources that stack, and sources that do not stack. You can think of this as sources that provide defense, and sources that increase defense.
Sources that provide defense (such as most armor) list the defense provided as a number, or say that they ‘provide’ defense. Some examples include:
These sources do not stack with each other. If a character could benefit from more than one of these sources of defense, the player chooses the best one.
However, other sources increase defense. These sources say they ‘increase’ defense, or they list the defense provided as a number with a ‘+’ sign in front of it. These sources of defense stack, both with each other and with any sources that provide defense.
If multiple sources that increase defense would increase a character’s defense higher than 4, the rating remains at 4.”
You can find all these in:

I just saw this myself. I noticed threats on all skills and took quite a while to find it tied to the lightsaber attachment.

I can't decide whether that answers the question of whether a fully upgrade Lorrdian crystal will stack with Armored Robes or not. The "Defensive" quality says it increases defense.
Hi all, I got a question.
I started my Charakter with Willpower 2 and got the Talent Grit with a result of a totail strain of 13.
Now I reached the Dedicated talent and rausen Willpower from 2 to 3 which should raise the strain from 13 to 14, but it does not.
Anybody knowing why?

For what it's worth, please don't delete the gravity belt - just mark it as "unofficial" and change it to "User Source" or the like. I know at least one PC in my games has it, and it would be confusing if it just vanished.

The reason you cant raise your strain from dedication is because it says in the core books the strain threshold can only be raised at character creation or through the grit talent.
I see, thank you.

I agree, I just put in a note saying that it is a removed item and to consult your GM before buying it.

But if your table allows it, you can go into GM grants to allow characteristics increased by talents (such as dedication) to increase WT or ST.

My copy of Suns of Fortune lists the Gravity Belt in the chart but there is no description.
Why, in particular, would one of your PC's own an item that he does not know what it does? Or does your book actually contain a description for it?
