Well you have a couple of options. You could manually edit the vehicle in question using the data editor but then you're going to have inaccurate info for other silhouette based stuff. Likely your best bet is to just GM grant yourself a rank of Larger Project. Of course, as others have pointing out, things are working as intended, so you'll of course want to run such a thing by your GM.

Or just buy the talent. It is a 5 point talent to do a YT-1300. 10 points to do a silhouette 5 vehicle. And if you use the other tree you can get up to silhouette 7

I guess I assumed that if he could buy the talent he wouldn't be asking how to perform a work around. It's all fine and good to say "just buy it" if he has the xp sitting around but not everyone plays with an xp surplus. I don't think it's unreasonable for someone who has already invested 15xp at character creation to get signature vehicle, to want the immediate benefits, assuming the GM is starting the group with a 4 or 5 Sil ship. In those cases, I usually offer the player a Rent-to-Own style deal on those talents (giving them access to the talents but awarding them 1-2 xp less each session until they are paid off).

Here's a better workaround: just go into the generator and award XPs to the character so that PC can buy Larger Project. It's a lot easier than mucking with changing the talent.

I added a line at the bottom of the dialog that tells you the maximum silhouette you can rig. It seems that this has caused some confusion with more than one person

I'm merging my local changes with your 1.8 beta, and noticed that your Navigator appears to be missing Survival as a career skill (only 3 are listed).

Also, is there a reason die modifiers weren't added to the corresponding skills for the Essential Kill talent? Is it not applicable in all situations?

Is the latest update at the 1st page the current generator with latest books 1.8 or is that still 1.7? If not the latest where can I get the latest since the website link someone put on a page or two ago only has 1.7 and the beta 1.8. Just wondering if I'm missing something

Probably 1.7, but you can just download it and then look inside the zip file for the Documents folder, which has a .txt file containing the version #.

I found a couple of issues with the Force powers, although the second one is apparently handled gracefully by the application without an issue.

1. Farsight Force tree, a link is missing. <Down>true</Down> needed for Range to Mastery
2. Heal-Harm Force tree xml: first row Range should not have Left=True.

pg. 56 of Keeping the Peace says Item Attachment "Low Friction Coating" is rarity 5, cost 750, but you have it as 7/2500.

The latest release version is 1.7.

The available version 1.8 is a beta.

After an extended absence, OggDude is almost finished with the release version 1.8, and a rough plan for update 1.8.1.

I'm currently creating the specialisations from "No Disintegrations", and almost all of them are fine. The only issue I'm having is with "Iron Body". It allows two things - one of them is to remove B per rank from Coordination and Resilience checks. No problem - can add that via the Data Editor. However, it also allows you to reduce the critical rating of unarmed attacks by 1 per rank (min. 1).

Is there a way of doing this via the data editor, or is it something OggDude will need to do in the source code?

Any time it comes to new talents, especially from new specializations, there’s always a chance that it might need some supporting code changes. I suspect that is the case here, but only OggDude can confirm for certain.

When you print the sheets off, any pages that don't fill the paper seem to generate a "Notes" section at the bottom to fill up the space. Unfortunately, that means you have to actually write on it. With a pencil.

The other place to do it would be the character backstory, but I guess that depends on what sort of notes you're adding.

While I certainly appreciate your attempt to be clever, understand where this breaks down. When I update the character with new skill ranks, talents, gear, etc - I print a new character sheet (and throw the old one away). So simply writing stuff down at the bottom/on the back breaks down quickly and leads to loss of gaming knowledge over time (and a messy character sheet). (places visited, NPCs met, goals, etc).

Obviously I do make notes on the sheet during game play - but transferring them to the 'official' sheet (which I store electronically in the Character Generator) tends to be a better way to record things and not have details get lost.

It seems like a place for possible improvement - a button on the left for NOTES that would simply allow freehand notes of this sort. Alternately an area for JOURNAL for the player to detail his characters exploits would be welcome.

As a suggestion (until when/if such a utility is added by OggDude), since you'd be typing those hand-written notes into the character generator at some point, why not make a journal document in your word processor of choice? Or, if you'd like a (game session) date stamp associated, perhaps a journal program?

As for the generator... the good news is that I've completed the documentation and am now trying to remember all of the billion things I've done in the last few months to add to the version info file.

The bad news... no bad news, really except it's not released yet. I keep finding little things that need tweaking, plus I still have to test this on my Win10 laptop to make sure it's all working. Other than that, I think it's stable, full of new functionality, and looks pretty I think it's safe to expect 1.8 to be released within the week.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I totally understand that. I've currently got my first gen character sheet with my freshly printed one, as it has all my notes on. Your idea is very good. I just didn't want OggDude to start adding new features and delay the release even further

Something strive for in 1.9 or 2.0, perhaps...

I've added things to the generator specifically to aid in it working better with Mono or other Mac .NET systems:

• It uses GDI+ everywhere.
• It has been upgraded to .NET 4.5
• It now uses a managed HTML solution that also uses GDI+, so it doesn't require the IE web browser anymore.

When 1.8 does come out, anyone out there with a Mac, please let me know how it looks, whether or not everything works, and any limitations you see.

Yes.

Find the SWCharGenLauncher.exe and put it into Compatibility Mode for Windows 7, then run the Character Generator/Data Editor from the launcher.
