I downloaded the new version.

When I launched it, I got a JIT Debugging error each time I attempted to load a character.

I exited and cleared the cache.

I relaunched the program and now each time I go to load a character instead of getting the JIT Debugging error, it simply says the character failed to load.

Any thoughts?

Before this most recent upgrade, the Backgrounds from Keeping the Peace were not present. Were they added?

Now that I am home I did a little more looking at it and have found a bug. On GM tools open groups, Modify group. characters. add character recieve.

Strangely I thought this character was already a member of this group.

PS: after clearing cache none of the characters were in the group anymore. Recently upgraded to winblows 10.

OK it's working now. I'm editing this in case anyone else has this issue.

I removed all custom Data

Opened the GM tools and tried to modify the the group again. Got error.

Removed group and reopened GM tools and the group was gone.

Then I put everything back in and opened GM tools and it worked as expected.

Check to see if you have SQL Server Compact Edition version 4 installed. If you do, uninstall it and try again.

Do you know what the original error was? Email me a character that's giving you trouble and I'll see if I can replicate it.

Strangely I thought this character was already a member of this group.

PS: after clearing cache none of the characters were in the group anymore. Recently upgraded to winblows 10.

OK it's working now. I'm editing this in case anyone else has this issue.

I removed all custom Data

Opened the GM tools and tried to modify the the group again. Got error.

Removed group and reopened GM tools and the group was gone.

Then I put everything back in and opened GM tools and it worked as expected.

the Group was there with everyone in it as expected and I could modify things as I expected.

It all works on my end. When you "removed" custom data, was it just the DataCustom folder? Do you have any downloaded third-party data sets installed? Did you clear the cache?

Before this most recent upgrade, the Backgrounds from Keeping the Peace were not present. Were they added?

They were added in the last release. I only added Lead by Example for this release.

I've gotten the latest update and I'm still getting that "System.DllNotFound.Exception" error I mentioned on the last page. Any idea as to what's causing that or what I need to install to get rid of that error?

Check to see if you have SQL Server Compact Edition version 4 installed. If you do, uninstall it and try again.

Had it installed, uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and it still isn't working for whatever reason.

Strangely I thought this character was already a member of this group.

PS: after clearing cache none of the characters were in the group anymore. Recently upgraded to winblows 10.

OK it's working now. I'm editing this in case anyone else has this issue.

I removed all custom Data

Opened the GM tools and tried to modify the the group again. Got error.

Removed group and reopened GM tools and the group was gone.

Then I put everything back in and opened GM tools and it worked as expected.

the Group was there with everyone in it as expected and I could modify things as I expected.

It all works on my end. When you "removed" custom data, was it just the DataCustom folder? Do you have any downloaded third-party data sets installed? Did you clear the cache?

No I don't have any third party data sets. I only have the datasets that are yours with the descriptions put in which I did. More information on this. I'm using a folder in a drop box as the Datapath. On my main computer I can open the characters and the group, now. But on my gaming machine, and my S.O.'s machine Nothing works. I can't even open the characters. Like last time I will investigate further and let you know.

I'm unable to save characters with the new version.

I made changes to a character and hit save. When I reload the character, none of the changes I just made are there.

I cleared the cache and was no longer able to open my old characters.

So, I created a new empty data folder. Created a character. Then hit save. When I go back to the character list, it's not there.

OK, I managed to get the same error when loading my GM Tools.

I've been following this thread for a while but haven't posted yet, so before I start whinging let me just show some appreciation to the man for having done a sterling job creating the sheet. I've been using the sheet for several months now and I have been extremely impressed by it and have gotten used to working with adding custom data. So I would like to start by saying thanks to Ogg Dude for all his work on this sheet, if I ever get it working again I promise to hit that donate button.

I've spent 2 days adding descriptions to talents, force powers etc... I added some custom gear and vehicles too. Today I got a notification saying there was a new version available so I installed it. I couldn't access any of my existing characters so I tried messing about removing and replacing custom data, cleared cache, transferred data, created backups. Nothing worked. Finally I have completely removed everything from my computer, all files and folders, including all of my existing characters and then did a fresh install. Basically it's as if I have downloaded the sheet for the first time.

So with the fresh install done, I create a test character just to make sure its working right... nope... not showing up on my list in the character generator and no xml file showing up in the character folder either.

I know very little about debugging codes and such so Im afraid I cant be more help there.

I downloaded the new version.

When I launched it, I got a JIT Debugging error each time I attempted to load a character.

I exited and cleared the cache.

I relaunched the program and now each time I go to load a character instead of getting the JIT Debugging error, it simply says the character failed to load.

Any thoughts?

Do you know what the original error was? Email me a character that's giving you trouble and I'll see if I can replicate it.

Ogg, this was happening to me initially when I downloaded the latest version. As a final resort I've deleted all my character xml files and all my custom data, done a fresh install, but now it wont even save new characters.

I just uploaded a fix for this issue. I know what was wrong, but I have no idea why it would cause a problem. The mysteries of .NET serialization... After the fix, I was able to save and reload characters.

I'm doing some backups right now, so it might be awhile before everything is synced with DropBox.

I've gotten the latest update and I'm still getting that "System.DllNotFound.Exception" error I mentioned on the last page. Any idea as to what's causing that or what I need to install to get rid of that error?

Check to see if you have SQL Server Compact Edition version 4 installed. If you do, uninstall it and try again.

Had it installed, uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and it still isn't working for whatever reason.

Just uninstall it and see if the generator works.

Eventually, I'll switch to SQLCE 4, and I do have 3.5 embedded in my app, but some people get conflicts if they also have 4 installed.

Thanks Oggy. Just having a conversation with my wife about the importance of backups... or in my case not deleting your back ups. I've got a game in 2 hours, not enough time for me to input all of that data and recreate all my npcs again but at least I know a fix is coming.

I need to leave here in about an hour, so if DropBox finishes syncing before then, I'll post. If not, just give it to about 10:30 Pacific and it should be ready.
