Minor "problem": when I click on Career on the line over the skills, it only works some of the time and line up the skills in order by career. When I click on Buy or Total, it works every time and lines up the skills I have used xp on or have the highest rank total of. It was the same in the last generator.

Did any of this make sense at all, or should I provide pictures?

This is a known problem. I wish their was a magic wand to wave to prevent it from doing this. I removed all the custom Motivations and it still won't play the game.

check the values closely that you have placed into your DB, some types of elements can not have certain kinds of data or there may be a limit to the number of the characters that can be placed into a field. Did you use a "-" minus symbol somewhere to separate some info in a field? this could just be a simple syntax issue.

I've added and modified a number items within my install of OggDude's application as well as another application I use for another game system. What I would suggest is backing up your customized DBs to a separate folder, then uninstall the whole application, delete the installed folder and re-install it and see if it works properly, that will hopefully tell you if you have some bad syntax within your custom DB or your DB could just have some corruption in it.

Eh, sure, but that'll cost me about the same as a new copy of the core rules with shipping added.

Also, I'm not sure it's an issue... the species stats are in there, as are the stats for vehicles and ships.

Don't know if this has been pointed out before or not (I'm not reading through 253 pages of posts just to find out).

Weaponry with the Inaccurate quality doesn't seem to add the setback symbol to the dice roll symbols on either the front page or the equipment summery page. Item Attachments that add inaccurate quality also don't add the setback to the roll. Minor issue, but I have some players that rely pretty heavily on that visual aid.

I've also been noticing an interesting issue that's likely just on my end, but I thought I'd bring it up since I'm here. When I'm going through each of my players, every so often when I open up one of the characters to edit it, the career skills won't be checked anymore. It seems to happen after opening 1 - 2 other characters beforehand, but it doesn't seem to matter which ones. Might it have something to do with the custom items I have added on somehow? I wouldn't think so, but just a thought.

That said, I LOVE the ability to make custom items. It's so very, very handy. There's a few things I wish I could do, but I understand the limitations of the system, so it's not hard to work around.

Just go into the data editor and edit the names of the knowledge skills to be what you want. You can do the same thing for Ranged - Light and Ranged - Heavy if you want to as well.

I'm almost ready for the translator pre-release to be sent out. I have two each translators for German, French, and Spanish so far, so those will probably be the languages that will be supported in the next release.

The "fix" for motivations just prevents the crash when the software encounters an empty motivations master data item. You can still get it working by just removing your old motivation custom data files. After that, you can add your descriptions back using the data editor and everything works like it should.

Just go into <data folder>\DataCustom and remove Motivations.xml. Also, if you have any <data folder>\DataCustom\DataSet_<whatever> directories, go into each of them and also remove Motivations.xml. Then you won't get that exception.

In the skill list, I press the different headlines on top a lot to put the skills in order by Career, Total, Buy and so on. Career only works some of the time and places skills in order by Career, while the others always set the skills in order according to the headline on top. Make sense?
