I copied the entire data folder as well as the entire star wars generator folder. When I went in to the data folder and opened up my talent file and force ability file it doesn't have my descriptions, but when I open up the program the descriptions are there. Just hope it saved.
Another Character Generator
Hi, just got the Age of Rebellion corebook and I'm trying to use the character generator to build some pregens for a OneShot.
Thing is, when I check the Characteristics page, there's green text that tells me I have extra points to spend on characteristics even though the unspent XP total at the top is at zero.
Is there some aspect of character creation I'm missing that adds these extra points?
This is a feature that OggDude added which lets you know how much XP you have to spend on Characteristics to stay within the rules. It's not 'extra' XP as any XP you spend on Characteristics will come off of your total.

Yeah, what he said Say you start with 110 XP. That means that you can spend at the most 110 XP to raise your characteristics. It doesn't matter that you've been playing for three months and have spent 300 XP over your starting XP. You're still limited in spending 110 XP to raise your characteristics.
Note that the generator doesn't stop you from using more than that to raise your characteristics, nor does it stop you from raising them later on some time after you begin playing. It does warn you of the former, however.

Your descriptions could have been part of a data set. In that case, they wouldn't be in DataCustom\Talents.xml, but in DataCustom\DataSet_My Data Set\Talents.xml. If you got them from somewhere else and imported them, that's probably the reason.
Hey Ogg. I've had trouble sending you those things I promised you. I keep getting delivery failures on my side. Are you having issues with your e-mail?
I got them, and it's now part of the package. I also worked up some of those pictures you were having problems with and included those as well. I think you'll like them
Hey Ogg. First off awesome character generator. I found a problem though, I noticed that in the GM Tools, when I print out the group, the stats get cut off.

Do you have a high DPI setting on your computer, such as 120 dpi, or maybe "Large Fonts"?
Edit: Nevermind. I figured out the problem. It only happens when you're not using a group emblem. It's been fixed.
Edited by OggDudeAny word on adding additional hardpoints to things due to Intuitive Improvements?
Just to keep you guys up to speed, I decided to add a new feature at the last minute It's a one-sheet "compact" character sheet. This is mainly useful for running games at cons, or for running one-shot games, where you just need the basics of the character. You can also use it as a quick reference sheet. It will intelligently move things around and remove excess talents, equipment, force powers, etc, as it needs to. To have some control over this, you can choose prioritized items that you want displayed. It'll remove these items last. Again, this is mainly for pre-gen characters that aren't too complex, but it'll work for any character; just don't expect everything you have to be displayed
I need to do some more testing before release, plus I need to update the documentation with the new changes. I'm hoping I'll get this out by the end of the week.
I wanted to thank you for all your work. You've built a great tool here.
This is amazing, just got into the FF SW games, and was looking for a character generator and couldn't find anything.
This program looks truly impressive and am going to give it a shot real soon. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this.
I have to admit: I did not read all of the posts (it's more than 200 pages... ... ...), but perhaps someone can help me
First: I LOVE this tool and it is a super big help!
We have just started with EotE as a group pf all beginners - but we have lots of fun.
This is very much of whishing - less of needing. I will definitely use the tool - with or without the functions, but sometimes things are available and I just didn't know - so I ask
Hoping for a positive answer and again: my deep repect for creating such a great tool!

It ought to be made official imo.

Fair enough, just had me a bit confused. Thanks for clearing things up.
OK, I have no idea if this has been covered earlier.
When you export the stats of a character as an image, is there anyway to change it so it exports with the AoR or FaD colour schemes?
At the moment, even if you adjust the skin, it still exports with 'Edge Colours'
Equally, with that export, is there any way of changing the font?
Cheers
Any word on adding additional hardpoints to things due to Intuitive Improvements?

Done and done. You can now select CRB-styled stat blocks in the stat block dialog, and the equipment pane now supports talents like Intuitive Improvements. The font in the stat block can't easily be changed, since I'm using an embedded style sheet. That'll be a whole other thing
I updated the documentation, but as I keep making changes, and keep testing, little things keep cropping up. Once I get it to the point where I haven't made any changes in a day or two, I'll release it.

Will the text i have entered for the Beta book still be there for the release or do i have enter it all in?
All the beta items that made it over to the CRB (which was about 95% or more) have the same keys, so your descriptions will be safe. The only snag is if you added descriptions for specific motivations. They're now in their own table so you don't have to actually customize motivations to enter descriptions for them anymore. Unfortunately, it also means that you'll need to add descriptions for them again. You'll also have to remove your customization for motivations and revert them to "DescOnly".

Cool....awesome..
I love this program but got 2 question.
1 On the weapons description when printing the PC's stats, the Ranged skill isn't on there. I went into the data Editor thinking it has to be selected to show on the printed page but there's no way to select it. It's on the editor and shows on the description in the program but not on the printed page I find that many players can't remember what the ranged skill of most weapons are and since this determines the dice pool I would think that it would be on there. Is it somewhere else or can I somehow get it to show on the printed version? Maybe add it to description somewhere?
2 The pages I use the most are the first page, Skills for dice pool, the third page for the talents, and the fifth page for weapons. Just wondering, with the page print order, why wouldn't these pages print out as page 1,2,3 and other information print after. I mean it's no problem to arrange the pages in what ever order you want them but it seems that I find out how many people I know that have OCD as it drives some of them nuts. (Maybe me a bit cause I'm asking the question haha)
Once again, I love the program. The first question is what I am mostly wondering about.

You can ensure that the weapons (and their appropriate skill) are printed out in detail on the first page with the skills. Just click "Show" in the owned weapons box on the equipment page. Then the dice pool for that weapon will be displayed on the first page along with the details of the weapon.
Is the Force and Destiny update released yet? My launcher isn't picking anything up...

Cool. I'll do this to all my PC's Thanks a lot. Very helpful

It's not in the tool yet. OggDude was indicating it should be out next week. I can only imagine how much work it is to get the tool updated with an entire core book full of new material and new rules.
