Have people been using the "carried" option for gear to separate the ENC gained from things like Utility Belts and Backpacks to account for things like the ENC from Armor and Jet Packs?

That's how you do it. To gain the benefits of gear, if any, you would equip the gear. Equipped gear will give you encumbrance as well. Carried gear just give you encumbrance and no benefits. So for backpacks, you'd equip them to gain the encumbrance boost. You should also equip things like medpacs that give you a boost for Medicine, for example. You're still limited in equipping two each of weapons and armor, but you can equip any number of gear.
The Defensive training isn't adding to defense when I have the lightsaber equiped.
Good catch. Defensive Training is configured as a generic talent. Currently, there's no requirement for wielding a particular type of weapon in order to get an attribute bonus. I'll have to add this to the code.

, tried to add some clarification in English but I don't know all the English terms Microsoft uses.). I tried just about everything and nothing works. I cleared out everything regarding SQL server from my system and still nothing. The only thing I can think of is a complete re-install of my system at this point. Do you have any other ideas as to the cause and how to fix it?

The encumbrance is being calculated correctly. Six carried, three worn. The tool tip in the buy gear window shows it as encumbrance three.
custom tool kit does not give the boost to mechanics when equipped. The data breaker does not do the same for computers.
Maybe have a show box for all gear...that way the mechanic and the medic can have their important gear up front....
I think with the Data Breaker and Custom Tool Kit, it's that they only give a boost die in specific circumstances, such as specifically for slicing or for making repairs/doing maintenance respectively instead of applying to all Computers or all Mechanics checks.
Sorry to sound lazy but is there a data file that includes the appropriate data entries from the book? I understand all the copyright issues, but figured it won't hurt to ask

Incredible work, best generator for an rpg I've ever seen.
My current character has the Strength Enhancement Attachment on her armor. She also has a number of cybernetic enhancements. She has a brawn of 2 and with the attachment it goes up to 3. A character can only have a number cybernetics equal to their brawn characteristic. Her natural brawn is 2 and so I assume that her maximum allowable number of cybernetics should be two. The program says, however, that her maximum allowable number of cybernetics is 3. I personally can't find a rule which specifies that you shouldn't be able to install another cybernetic enhancement, but it would make sense that you wouldn't be allowed to.
Thoughts?

Which is why I suggested the show option be allowed on all gear. As a mechanic would like to know the bonuses and when they apply a slicer would as well. Or a medic. The non combat characters who use equipment to improve their roll might find having certain gear show on the front page with what the gear does helpful. I can also see how this would be a huge benefit for con games where the players may be completely new to the system.

I didn't find anythink about languages. I like to translate your wonderfull SW Editor into german. I'm a Gammaster of 2 Star Wars evenings a week.
I can modify the most things with your data Editor exept the skills and characteristics. Cloud you Change them, that i can modify them please. I didn't want to Change them with a text Editor because i don't know what will happen in the future Versions of the Editor.

I checked the code. Basically, it'll work the first time you do it, but if you cancel the save by unchecking the mode box, the copied item will retain its new dataset. As such, it won't see anything that needs to be copied or moved if you try doing it again. I'll have to look into it.
Another question : I upgraded my version to 1.4.4.0 (and since then to 1.4.5.0) ; but it seems all Fly casual specializations aren't linked to the smuggler careers. I have to check manually all Fly casual specializations' boxes. The same thing happens with the Stay on target ace's specializations. Is this a bug on my computer / version or does anyone have notice the same ?

It sounds like you may have already customized those careers. If you made any changes to those careers other than just changing the descriptions, they'll be used in place of the stock careers. If they have "CustItem" in their listing, do a "Remove" and choose the option to keep descriptions (if you added any). That will revert them back to stock and the new specializations will show up.

No, not that I can find. It just didn't make sense to me that your equipment would allow you to have another cybernetic implant. What would happen if you took off your armor, your cybernetics arm would fall off?
See what I'm saying? Anyway, I suppose we can chalk it up to a house rules thing and move on. I did make another thread to gauge people's opinion on the subject.

I suspect rules as intended is that it goes off your base brawn. Not the enhanced one. Rules as Written do not always reflect their rules as intended. I would send a question to customer service. When you get a response share on the rules questions thread at the top.
Bug report. i just added a lightsaber crystal to a lightsaber. Dantari...It says base damage of seven. I have it in a shoto hilt. I should have a final damage of 6 not 9. So it seems the shoto hilt is not subtracting one. and the app seems to be adding my 2 brawn to my damage.

I had a problem a couple of weeks ago where the print dialog would not load at all. I've discovered the reason for this. My version of the program had been auto-sandboxed by Commodo Firewall becuase it didn't recognise it. This caused a number of other problems with the program too. These were mostly to do with customisation and importing.

Actually I only changed the name from english to french as well as completing the description ; does that mean that I have to choose between translating and updating ?
