you should do some searching through the thread. Oggdude does mention some windows technology it needs. i think activex 4. or some such.
dotNet Framework 4, I think. The Wine Bottler site claims to provide it, so hopefully it'll work.

One question/suggestion... it would be nice to have a color sheet that looks like the Grayscale one. I would like a color sheet but dislike the very distracting datapad thing
Bug
When making a human character vigilance and perception are not in the list of non career skills available.

I should have been a bit more clear since the dice pools are in color. I am meaning one that looks more like the official sheets with the color boxes, etc and not like the Beginner Game folios.

Are they part of your career or specialization skills? I know I've looked for skills under the human list only to find out they were part of the career I'd selected....
I have not selected a career yet.
I have not selected a career yet.
I believe if you haven't selected a career yet, the default is "Smuggler".
There's no way to be without a career, so I'd recommend choosing the career you want. Then the correct set of skills will be available to choose from.
I have a small bug report. If you create a character who takes the -5 Duty option to get 1,000 credits, then buy enough gear so that he lands at exactly 1,000 credits, and then try to deselect the -5 Duty option: it doesn't work. The error message informs me that I need at least 1,000 credits to deselect this option, but in fact instead of checking for "credits >= 1000", it appears to be checking for "credits > 1000". Same with the 2,500 credits for -10 Duty option: it's checking for "credits > 2500" when it should be checking for "credits >= 2500".
In both cases, I can just give the character 1 more credit, uncheck the option, then take the 1 credit away again, so it's easy to work around.
THANK YOU, by the way, for creating this very useful program. It's made my job as a GM so much easier.

Not really sure what you mean. I include two different sheet styles, one full color, and the other more ink friendly. They both display the same information.

You are correct. You cannot be without a species and a career, so one of each is automatically selected when you create a new character (based on whatever is available with the sources you've selected). These can, of course, be changed.

Hadn't noticed that before Yeah, it was checking to see if the result was greater than 0, instead of >=. Easy enough to fix.
Some new names to thank for their donations!
World Racketeering Squad, Advanced Primate Entertainment (these names are hillarious), Paul Tessier, and David Schneider.
You guys rock Thanks for the support!
Just so everyone knows, I've been working furiously on the new F&D release and I believe I have everything done. About all I have to do is finish entering in the adversaries for F&D. Everything else is in place, including all new data and new changes to support the new mechanics. Thanks to Dono, I also have Far Horizons incorporated into the data as well.
Because so much was changed and enhanced and so much new data was incorporated into the mix, I'm going to delay releasing it until I can play with it some more and try to shake out any remaining bugs. Pretty much every test pass I make has some minor issue popping up that needs fixing, so when those stop happening, I'll be ready for the 1.3 release.
In the mean time, if anyone has any questions about the new release, ask away. As far as I know, it'll support everything that F&D threw at it

i just want to start poking around with it using your tool make mucking around with characters to see what different options do much faster and cleaner
I love this tool, both as a GM and a player. I keep hoping the new version will drop at least a few hours before my game tomorrow night
Thanks for putting this together!
If you want someone to test it, I'm willing!
I've got a PbP I'm creating a character for and could really use it.

Perhaps explaining it this way is more clear.. the Color one would be clearer I think if it was more like this:
Instead of the weird datapad background. I personally find those folios in the Beginner set very "Busy" looking and cluttered:
Just a suggestion though, love it over all. Stunning work man.

So you mean just the default character sheet?
I'll admit, I'd also be interested in this, but it's not a huge concern for me. It's still pretty easy to find all the information I need.

Yeah that is exactly what i mean. Not a huge deal to me either. I just use the simplified one, not because of printer concerns since I make PDFs anyway, but because i stongly dislike the other one.

So you like the simplified one, even though all of the graphics are identical to color one, just without the color. So... it sounds like you just don't like the background I suppose I could have the background in the color sheet optional.

AWESOME!!!!
The only question I have is the obvious one: WHEN CAN WE HAVE IT?! You do great work, Ogg. Thank you!
Can we...beta test it?

That would be an awesome idea. Sorry, yep. When I said "Datapad" I was meaning the background.
So they are the same otherwise? It seemed to me some sections were slightly different, like the Notes section on the first page... I have only been playing with it for a day or two, so I must be mistaken.
The excitement of seeing a new post in this thread. The let down of it not being Oggdude telling us the new version is up.

Yeah, I keep checking back every hour just in case it comes up. I have a session tonight that's going to be my last one for about 4 months and I'm hoping to get some upgrades for my Colonist.
