It isn't malware per say, it actually detects an "unknown source" so basically as a software creator you are unknown and thus untrusted.
Another Character Generator
OggDude, I don't suppose it would be possible to do a simple update to add the new combined Light/Dark Force Point icon into your character generator, would it?

That's because I don't have a VeriSign key, so depending on the security level, it'll flag it as suspicious.

I will be adding one. It's going to be called [EITHER] I couldn't think of another name. I've already started making the changes and additions. However, it shouldn't take me TOO long. The only new mechanics I've added so far are the substitute-characteristic-in-skill feature for the technique talents, plus the career attribute feature. I haven't looked over any of the new attachments, so there might be new, weird things they introduced there that I need to support.
A majority of the work is actually adding the new data. I've gotten the species (oh, new feature there, too... Cereans skill-type-as-career) added, as well as all the talents and two of the careers. Still have my work cut out for me, though.
Cool. I was just wondering if a quick patch might be possible with support for the icon, I'm coding some of the powers myself and I've been doing [LIGHT]/[DARK] which is a bit clunky
OggDude,
I have a character saved in the Character Creator who raised his Presence from 3 to 4 using Dedication. When I generate a Stat Block using the GM Tools for that character, it still shows his Presence as 3.
It kind of sounds like Ogg is well on his way towards the 1.3 update as it is.
But I do agree, I would like to see the [EITHER] command in a quick patch along with some of the changes mentioned.
If it were me I'd call it [FORCEPOINT], because that's what it represents.
One more request--
When saving a Stat Block, would it be possible to pre-populate the name of the file?
If I'm saving a stat block for "Rancor", I almost always call it "Rancor Stat Block" or something like that.
I'll put it to a vote. What would YOU like the new white/black force pip to be called? I know [EITHER] is kind of lame. [FORCEPOINT] is good, if a little long. Any other suggestions?
Force oreos
Light is always surrounded by dark but usually the best part
Or just plain old force Pecan sandies(I kid)
Dunno we kinda had it right from the get go.

As much as I hate long [] blocks, [FORCEPOINT] is precisely what it is, and therefore gets my vote. I mean its not that long.
[FORCEPOINT] or just [FP] works for me. For longer tags I just use string substitution anyway...

I vote for [EITHER], since the context will be pretty self-explanatory, I think. It's also more explicit than [FP] and not as long as [FORCEPOINT].
Also, I've been having a consistent error lately: when making Nemesis adversaries, the generator will randomly reset its status to Minion and erase all the skill and talent ranks.

How about [FPOINT]? It doesn't look as nice as FORCEPOINT, but it's a bit shorter. I know that I was getting kind of tired of typing out some of the longer words, like ADVANTAGE and when I was adding descriptions to a lot of stuff.
Hate to say this OggDude, but the none of the tools are working for me.
The launcher runs and is "useable", but the three tools aren't. They start, I can see them in the Process Tab on Task Manager, but they don't progress beyond starting up. No applications actually launch (except as I note, the Launcher).
This includes when specifically running them as an Admin.
EDIT: Note I just downloaded the Manual Install, I'll try the others tomorrow.

Did you try installing them into a new directory?
Seems like [EITHER] is popular. What about [PIP]? Or is that not descriptive enough? I like the shortness of [FP], but it's meaning might be too ambiguous.
Just out of curiosity, how come the Age of Rebellion Beta is still one of the selectable sources now that the Core book is on the list too?

I tried the Web Installer and got this error:

However it took quite a while for the installer to run... so I'm retrying the Launcher and I'll just let it run for a bit and see if it ever gets there. I only gave it 5 minutes before, it might just need more time.
Is length a problem with "[DIFFICULTY]"?
Both it and "[FORCEPOINT]" are 10 characters.
How about "[PROFICIENCY]"? That's 11.
Another option is to provide shorter versions of longer keys. "ADV", "PRO", "DIFF", "FP", but still have "ADVANTAGE", "PROFICIENCY", "DIFFICULTY", and "FORCEPOINT".
I just feel like "EITHER" doesn't give any context at all about what it means, whereas all the other keys actually use the name of what they represent.

I'd like PIP or FP. Either is kind of nebulous.

Agreed. Wouldn't mind shortened versions of those, either.
Another possibility (don't know how difficult it would be to implement), would be to add a button to each of the symbols we can insert, so we could just click that on the right side of the screen when entering text to shortcut past having to type out the words. Would that be something that you could do?
