I do agree that it's odd that the book's not for sale already, but given what I've heard about FFG not being all that great at operating an online store, I'm not that surprised. Admittedly, I'd probably be less blase if I didn't already have my copy, so I can understand the frustration folks are having.

I ordered my copy of the EotE Beta the day they announced it, and it didn't ship until almost a week and a half after that date, with people who ordered days after getting their copies shipped well before mine was.

I ordered my copy of the EotE Beta the day they announced it, and it didn't ship until almost a week and a half after that date, with people who ordered days after getting their copies shipped well before mine was.

This doesn't bode well for POD cards I ordered last week for my impending Explorer-Fringer I will be playing in an upcoming campaign. The only saving grace is the GM has decided to run his campaign on the alternating Fridays from the campaign I am running and is holding off on starting until the Friday after Labor Day weekend. With any luck the cards will be in by then.

FFG only has somewhere on the order of 150 employees. They subcontract their production also. So things get produced in waves. But imagine 150 employees to work on all the games they have, so I think they do ok, just really busy.

As someone who's had work published through non-super-mainstream press on a few occasions, I can say that it is not unusual at all for online ordering to not be available until a few days after the company has gotten back from their big, giant trade show.
