Chapter VI: Psychic Powers

By FFG Andy Fischer, in Proofreading Changes

Welcome to the proofreading changes sub-forum for the Dark Heresy 2nd Edition Beta.

In this thread, you can list any proofreading changes you find in Chapter VI: Psychic Powers.

In the 9-10 entry on Table 6-5, psyker is misspelled as pskyer.

On the table 6-5, there are no rules for a roll of 12, unless it should be 11-12 or 12-13.

On the Biomancy Perils of the Warp, Result 25- Unspeakable Hunger automatically grants the "Cannibalistic Urge" result on the mental trauma table.

Unspeakable hunger is on the malignancy table.

In general, the range for psychic powers that can be used as weapons is given as "range x PL" in the description and "range + PL" in the weapon box. Which one is correct? If the first is correct, should the damage of the power also be "dmg x PL" or is the way it's written "dmg + PL" correct?

On the chart of page 191, the prerequisite for Terrify is listed as Willpower 40. In the power description on page 192, the prerequisite is listed as Fellowship 40. Which is correct?

p. 182, Fire Shield - Casting time is listed as "Utility." Clearly this should be some sort of action or AP cost.

p. 188, The power "Telekinetic Control" is mispelled in the talent tree as "telekenetic"

p. 175, in the biomance tree, Enfeeble is misspelled Enfleeble

Endurance lists a prerequisite of Toughness 55 on p. 174, Perception 50 on p.175 (it seems obvious that this should be toughness, but should it be 50 or 55?)

Iron arm lists prerequiste tougness 45 in the talent tree and willpower 45 in the text (both on page 175) (should be toughness?)

Spontaneous combustion lists a prerequisite of Agility 45 on p.183 and Willpower 40 on p. 184 (as both agility and willpower are prerequisites in this tree I could see either, at either value)

Telekine Shield lists a prerequisite of Intelligence 35 on p. 187 and Intelligence 40 on p. 188.

Page 154, when discussing psychic disciplines it make reference to each of them having their own table for phenomena

"...In addition, each discipline has a unique..."

p154/155: fettering doesnt state, if it is possible to use fettering with PR1 (I think before it was only available from PR2 onwards ?)

p155: resisting psychic powers: "add PR to willpower test" - is this correct or should it be PR*5 (otherwise the risk is not worth the outcome) ?

On the Perils of the Warp table, one of the results (not sure which one, don't have the rules on hand atm) summons a Plaguebearer to attack the psyker. It states that the daemon attacks only the psyker that summoned it, regardless of whether or not other characters attack the daemon.

What happens when the summoning psyker dies? Does the daemon vanish back into the Warp, or does it stick around until the time rolled on the table passes? If it stays in realspace, will it attack other characters? If so, who will the daemon attack? Some clarification would be very helpful.

Also...why is it always a plague bearer (and couldnt also be a minion of the same level of another chaos god by GMs decision ?)

I believe that's because the beta has a fairly limited selection of enemies. A Bloodletter seems the most sensible daemon to use, given Khorne's hatred of psykers, but any lesser daemon could be appropriate. I hope the final rulebook contains profiles for cultists and daemons serving the other Chaos powers.

Errata 6: Page 167, Molten Beam: Replace the damage in the stat box with

“1d10+5+PR (E)”
Still doesn't match the description for Molten Beam on page 167 which states 1d10+5+PRx3(E)
