Does the new Enemy Within campaign specify a starting date?

No, it is summer by the season description.

The calendar in the back does not specify a year. The elector count died two years ago so that suggests 2522 if you go with 2520 as the 3rd battle of BF Pass

If you use the Storm of Chaos timeline, Jackdays great PDF, it would be 2521. I made it 2522 just because my campaign had played through 2521 already.

I started on Backertag Sigmarzeit 18. That is Sigmartag and the first day of summer. That worked for the prior events of war etc.

No problem and welcome to the boards. The GM thread below has a lot of great stuff in it. I started it because of another GM's post about a rough patch in running the menagerie. I have a timeline document if you are interested (e.g. if it's 2522, what year did Adele encounter cultists and lose hand etc.)

I have another optional idea.

We started the campaign from the end of the 2520. I'm not really sure how The Black Fire Pass battle dates there, but I had idea it would be late summer. So, the campaing starts just after the battle. You just have to change little some years...

In our campaing we started first with The Gathering Storm (when characters are in the Reikland the war against the Greenskins is happening in the Averland). Then characters move to Averheim and Book One (The Enemy Below) happens at the end of the year 2520. After those events characters remain to Averheim over the winter tryin to find out who the Black Cowl is. This extends the events and timeline.

Next my plan is to run The Black Fire Pass adventures, which happen around the winter-time 2520-2521.

And finally then we get to year 2521 when Warlord Surtha Lenk's advance starts (spring) and continue to the Book Two...
