Playing online/remotely

By kharzan, in WFRP Gamemasters

Hey guys,

So I was thinking of running a game with some mates in the WRFP 3rd edition setting (never tried the new edition before).

Only issue being, some of the players aren't located near me (or even in the same country).

I'm happy to pick up a set of the books, etc, but from my readings here and on the web, it looks like everyone would need things like these career cards? I don't think everyone would be happy buying their own set of every book and expansion we would need, is there anyway we can make this work?

Doesn't look like a PDF version of career cards is available in the shop, just the books, so are we fairly stuffed?

Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

The careers (many of them) are listed in the Player's Guide (hardback book, also avaliable in PDF). In this book actions and talents are also presented. In the book is also a character sheet which can be used when playing without the components. Then you can use the add-ins for Warhammer Fantasy 3ed for either MapTools or Fantasy Grounds and through that you can use components such as standups, dice etc. (never used it myself, but from what I hear both maptools and fantasy grounds work really well).

Oh, and as a GM you should probably have the PDF-versions of the Game Master's Guide and The Creature Guide.

Good gaming!

Thanks for the quick response!

Sorry if I'm being dopey here, but I've got the PDF of the Players Guide in front of me, where are careers listed? Can't see them anywhere!

Nevermind - found them in the Players guide - thanks!

However in the Blackfire pass they don't seem to be there, one of my players want to play a Dwarf, possibly a runesmith or engineer. Are those career cards and relevant actions PDF'd anywhere?

You'd have to forward your blackfire pass stuff to them somehow, otherwise, that's all newer stuff that's not in the player's guide.

They would need the rules from the book, the career, the inventions/gadgets, etc. Might be simpler to make sure they already have a good grasp of the game before going into those other elements.
