Good Games Burwood Melee League starts June 18th in Sydney!

By Honest, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

Hey Braavosi!

The next A Game of Thrones LCG league at Burwood starts next Tuesday, 18th June at 6.30pm and its MELEE! We haven't done this for a while, and I like it, its a more casual (if that's at all possible with the AGOT LCG crowd) fun game. New players, this is a fine time to learn how the different houses work, the mechanics of the game work, how cool the people who play this game are, and who to trust (no one! Except me obviously). Seasoned players will just enjoy playing a great game with cool people in a fun format again. There will be 2 rounds per night, 1 at 6.30pm, 1 at 8pm, with 75 minutes per round. You can play a different deck in between rounds if you wish. Players drop their worst weeks score and get a bonus point if they play a different house each week (you have to pla y the same house in both games on 1 week to get the bonus point, otherwise you are just a points prostitute!)

If you'd like to try the game, cruise in on a Tuesday to Burwood and one of the friendly, cool AGOT players will not only show you how its done, they will lend you a deck for the night to use also! Entry is just $7 with weekly performance and lucky door prizes up for grabs, as well as overall league prizes after the 6 weeks.

Its a fun night, come on in and try!

Cheers

Hey Team!

On Tuesday night 12 house nobles arrived at Burwood to grind each other into the ground whilst smiling nicely. Melee league week 1 had arrived, and after the wild fire cleared, Nathan R proved that he who talks the most, wins! Nathan won both his rounds with his affluent Lannisters to take the night and the early league lead. Glenn M, also playing Lannisters, and Mikey, playing the Stags, tied equal second. A fun night was had by all. Standings below

Nathan R 10 10 1 21
Glenn 6 10 1 17
Mikey 10 6 1 17
Aaron 10 3 1 14
Michael 0 10 1 11
Kym 3 6 1 10
Greg 6 3 1 10
Rob 3 6 1 10
Brother Jason 6 0 1 7
Tim 6 0 1 7
Ben 0 3 1 4
Roger 0 0 1 1

The league is on again next Tuesday night. 2 rounds, 6.30pm and 8pm, are played. Players drop their worst weeks score and get a bonus point for playing a different house each week. Its a great game played by very nice people. If you'd like to try, cruise on in on a Tuesday and someone will lend you a deck and show you how its done!

See ya all next Tuesday!

Hey Small Folk!

Week 2 of the A Game of Thrones melee league was held Tuesday night, and 14 of the most dodgy, underhanded House Principles arrived to stake their claim for the Iron Throne. Red Wedding like mayhem ensued, and after the blood was scrubbed from the dinner room hall Aaron and his Stark clan were left wiping their blades, winning both rounds to claim a max 20 points. Nathan R and his Greyjoy jerks finished second, whilst the only House Principle you should trust players, Kieren, and his Baratheon Knights, finished 3rd. Standings below

Nathan R 10 10 1 10 6 1 38
Aaron 10 3 1 10 10 1 35
Michael 0 10 1 0 10 1 22
Rob 3 6 1 3 6 1 20
Mikey 10 6 1 0 1 18
Glenn 6 10 1 17
Brother Jason 6 0 1 6 3 1 17
Kieren 5 10 1 16
Tim 6 0 1 6 0 1 14
Leslie 10 3 1 14
Colin 3 10 1 14

Game of Thrones is a phenomenally great game. As you can probably tell, it plays just as good multiplayer (as we are doing this league) as it does 1 v 1. The game is fun, balanced and played by a great group of people (yes even Nathan R!). If you'd like to try it out cruise in next Tuesday from 6pm where a friendly Game of Thrones player will not only show you how its done, but lend you a deck to do it with!

See you all next Tuesday!
