Variation on the dice roll

By Stile2112, in Relic

In order to foster less resentment from my fellow players (IE, my family) on enemy rolls. We added red dice to represent the enemy. So this allows the player to roll all the dice at the same time. If the rolls explode, we have enough of each color to cover it.

This way, the player is responible from his own crappy rolls…. both his and the enemy. Because there are two different color dice, we can track which is the hero and which is the enemy :)

If you roll the enemy dice at the same time as the player dice, then aren't you totally missing the point of the ability to play power cards in place of the player dice rolls? The enemy dice need to roll first so that the player can then decide whether to use a power card in place of his die roll to win the combat. If you roll all the dice at the same time, then you are missing out on a nice aspect of Relic, the ability to use your power cards to determine the battle for you.

This x100. Timing can be a changer, from guaranteed victory with a Power card of 2 or having to use that precious 6 now (but either case, not having to risk a roll at all).
