When vehicles are attacked in the rear arc the armor roll is ignored, as the main bulk of a vehicle is on its fron side.

What about of vehicles attacked from their upper side; when an artillery strike is performed do I have to roll the armor roll?

Only the rear arc gets to Ignore armor, but the upside is you can use an artillery spotter to draw your LOS from the rear arc to ignore damage.

AH but if he starts or air drops in cover, then soft becomes hard cover, so all you have to fear is weapons that ignore cover.
