Would a Ranaldian Initiate be a good fit for the Criminal background in TEW?

Title basically says it all. I have a player that often likes to make "sneaky" or "theif-like" characters and if he chooses the Criminal background I was thinking of giving him the option of playing a Ranaldian Initiate. Sort of be something different for him to try while still being very close to what he enjoys playing.

Obviously none of the traits match so it technically wouldn't "fit", but I was wondering if there might be good ways to make it fit. For instance, perhaps he was sent on a mission by his cult and failed, breaking the number 1 rule of "Don't get caught". They bail him out (thus his acquital), but then punish him for his failure by stripping him of all possessions (make him start out Broke) and telling him he needs to perform another "mission" to redeem himself. Since he's shown himself so grossly incompotent in theivery they instead send him to investigate some problems that have been bothering the common folk in the docks district with all these disapperances. The authorities won't investigate because they're to busy to be concerned about the welfare of lowly commoners, so the Ranaldians want him to look into it.

Or maybe they want him to try to investigate the new crime lord in an effort to bring him down as he's proving far too violent for Ranaldian criminal tastes.

Or perhaps I'm just reaching way to far with this and it wouldn't make any sense at all atontado. Anyone else who's more familiar with Warhammer lore care to chime in if this is a terrible idea or if there are some interesting ways to make it work?

I think the concept of the cards is just to open peoples' minds to expanding their background. The suggestions that you make are good.
