Good Starter Campaign?

By Kintero, in WFRP Gamemasters

I just introduced my players to a little cult campaign, seeking out and destroying a few Nurgle cults. But what would be a good published campaign to buy for the next adventure?

Go with The Gathering Storm. $22.95 U.S. at amazon.

I'm currently finishing up playing The Dying of the Light (1st edition that I ran as 3rd edition). It's linear, so it takes some extra red-herrings to keep it from feeling too straight.

I've run Ashes of Middenheim/Spires of Altdorf/Forges of Nuln for 2nd edition. That one was ok as well, and less linear. Any updates from old systems are converted straight-up btw. A beastman is a beastman in any edition.

I didn't run the 1st edition of The Enemy Within, but got to play in it using 2e rules. It's fine as well, but I'm going for the 3e version in a bit. At 192 pages, I'm always concerned about prep time. I don't have the luxury of memorizing chapters and chapters of text for each session. We'll see about that one.

In our 3rd edition campaigns thus far, we've used many of the fan-written adventures. There are hundreds.

The Gathering Storm looks good. I ran The Enemy Within 1st ed and loved it, wouldn't mind runnin a new one with this group, but I'll start with TGS thnx!

I would really reccomend "The Witches Song". Neat characters, unusual situations, some memorable fights, and and a nice introduction to the morally ambiguous nature of Warhammer…
