Ray's Scenario Pack for Tide of Iron

Ray's Scenario Pack for Tide of Iron is now available for download on BGG (Board Game Geek).

Are you tired of scenarios that are not thoroughly tested, and as a result you start playing a scenario only to discover that it seems a bit unbalanced and not very entertaining and/or challenging? Well, try the four (4) scenarios that come with RSP4TOI.zip and you will discover this is not true. In fact, two scenarios have very good replay values due to their design, and you find yourself playing these over and over.

Looks interesting. I found the last one to look very interesting indeed.

However a quick question regarding the last scenario. What if both engineers are killed before they can claim the tiger? Does the russian win then? A second question, what if the russians occupy the vicotry hex before the germans? Can they then do anything to destroy the tiger?

The game is a draw. The Soviets win if they destroy the Tiger tank.

If the Soviets occupy the hex with the Victory Objective Marker, then the Germans need to take it away from them somehow. The soviet player cannot destroy the Victory Ojbective Marker.

From a story telling point of view this seems very strange. I could agree that a bunch of russian troops would not destroy an abondon Tiger, but rather capture it. And maybe they have better thing to do than destroying an abondon tiger when german troops arives. However, if the tiger is keept in russians hands, it should definitively be a russian victory. Besides it seem strange that the russian troops would have to let the engineers fixed the tiger before they can win. Also, if the germans wants, they can easily play for a draw simply by not occupying the vicotry hex.

However, it does seem like a nice scenario, but I do think that the vicotry condition could need a tweek.

Nice work!

Thanks for sharing. Some of those ideas, especially the DIY approach in the meeting engagaments, should be noticed by FFG.
