Brett's Dust painting log

By bacasino, in Dust Tactics

Hey guys, Newbie here.

Thought i would share some of my painted mini's. Love all the inspiration from all the wonderful talent on this board. Have not played my first game yet but soon will after a buddy and get our armies painted up.

Thanks for looking

Love the striped pattern on the Wildfire, will use it on one of my own walkers.

Very nice indeed, keep them coming and enjoy your first game!

I love that tiger stripe. Really good work. All i would say is if you like weathering give them some dirt !!!!

Looking very sharp.

I notice that you have the "standing" driver as well as the sitting guy. I have 2 wildfire/honeys and both only came with the sitting driver. What is other people's experience?

The "standing" driver is from this extra pack (recommended, BTW). Otherwise you'll get only the sitting one, which is the standard issue for the Wildfire/Honey model.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

@ Talldwarf- Golem answered your question. It really is a great set. Wish they would do more.

Thanks for the reply guys. The driver is cheap enough but I have started ordering SSU as well as they become available here. Going to spend my money on units for now. I thought I would avoid the SSU since a friend is building that up, but I want to own everything thinking of the future and I like how the 3 factions have different styles. To learn how to beat the SSU I need to play them as well. My son also wants the helicopters and will want the tanks.

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask this, but did you remove the bases from the infantry you painted? if so, did you cut it off? Or am I not pulling hard enough?

I'm thinking of doing unit identification on my bases, but that will be a heck of a lot easier to paint if it remove the bases first. (I've never done anything like this before…)

Hey,

I cut it off with an exacto blade. Just be careful because they are very soft plastic and cut very easily. Just go slow and you should be fine. These are alot easier to paint off the base.

Brett

Thanks! I ended up popping the little medallion off, and if i use my exacto around the peg, i can get it off with the peg intact, gives my helping hands alligator clip something to hold onto.

Models look fantastic, btw

the light walkers look great and does totenmiester. Can wait to see more of your work.

Thank you….I appreciate the kind words. It's a little slow going because i have way to many mini's to way to many games.
