Let's say rebel ship A has a target lock on imperial ship X. Dutch establishes a target lock on imperial ship Y (and is also within 2 of rebel ship A).

I know each ship can only have one target lock, but with Dutch's special ability, could rebel ship A now switch his target lock from imperial ship X to imperial ship Y?

Or, if he already has a target lock on another ship is he stuck with that target lock?

According to the rulebook, " Target lock tokens are only removed if the locking ship either acquires a target lock on a different ship or spends the target lock during the Combat phase. " This tells me that you can acquire a target lock on a different ship by giving up the original target lock.

I believe you can. You're not so much as switching the target lock as you are canceling the previous lock upon establishing another.
