Squad Modes

If the kill team is in squad mode and one marine uses a codex defense pattern that states Full Round action, does that mean each marine that uses that codex defense pattern takes a full round action or just the marine initiating it?

It would help if you were a bit more specific.

Which patterns are we talking about for instance.

But, from the sound of it you have it a bit backwards. Only the Marine activating the defense pattern (or other squad modes) must expend the action in the description. For instance, Regroup costs a Full Action. Only the marine who activates regroup has to spend the full action. Once activated all marines in squad mode immediately benefit from the pattern, but do not themselves have to use a full action to do so. In this case, all the marines in the squad may make a full move (including the marine who activated it), and still have their normal actions when their initiative comes around.

Your example was exactly the answer I was looking for. So only the initiating marine pays the action cost. Thanks!
