Besides the usual chaos cult, are there any active rebellions in the Empire/Reikland/Ubersreik region? Why? What do they want? Overthrowing the local nobility? The Emperor? Just looking for some canon fluff, if any, before I create my own! Thanks one and all for any assist!
Rebellions? Are there any in the Empire?
Check out The Glorious Revolution of the People entry from Shades of Empire. There's also the Reikland Revolutionaries entry in Liber Fanatica 7 ( http://www.liberfanatica.net/LF7download.html ).
Cheers!
Thanks Goblyn!
Oh - I'll go check that out. Thanks for the direction.
I actually have created my own mini-province in the empire, and the focus of the meta quest is dealing with a rebellion, that's threatening to go into a civil war. Many parties, including various cults, are backing various players in the rebellion.

In my games I always allude to the Empire considering Marienburg to be a continuing rebellion, with Empire plots to retake it constantly opposed by the fogwalkers.

This just gave me a fantastic idea! What if there is an evolving conspiracy between Marienburg and Ubersreik (which is presently a "free-Staat")? Perhaps sympathizers within Marienburg have heard of Ubersreiks predicament and have been sending them weapons/supplies/information to give them an advantage in case the city is forced into having a new leige lord and has to hold off a seige by Imperial forces. This is a totally unformed idea at the moment, so please feel free to add to or totally tear down the idea if it's completely off base.

That is precisely the main plot of my campaign, just that in my campaign is not only Marienburg, but also the High Elves who are plotting to keep Ubersreik as a free city.
I like the Ubersreik plotting! But (just as an FYI) they aren't completely "free." They still have allegiance to the emperor; they pay taxes and are subject to imperial decree. But instead of falling under the dominion of a lord, they are ruled internally. So they can have their own rules/laws/legislations, permitted they obey the greater imperial decrees. As it stands, the Emperor is thinking of revoking that status and giving it back to a lord. At least, that was my understanding from the source.
But I love the idea of a secession from the Empire being backed by other organizations. And of course, it's long been true that the Empire feels it can claim Marienburg…

Yes! I'm definitely going to start seeding my rumors and adventure seeds tables with this kind of hearsay. I can see a couple of my PCs, the ones with an interest in political intrigue, absolutely LOVING this. And who knows, if they prod and poke their noses around enough, they may just change the political landscape of the western Reikland.
