breaching augur

By 1tu3fore, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

okay so

1. can i use the price of victory deed from rites of battle to give my character a breaching augur?

2. if so is there a cost? my reasoning is that price of victory states that you get 2 cybernietic implants but that you cant get a servo arm or other stuff but it allows a bionic arm (if i am reading it right) and the breaching augur states that you can implant it onto a wounded battle-brother as a cybernitec limb. so if you use the price of victory to gain a impanted breaching augur in place or your arm does it cost anything?

3. if this works but you need to pay should you use signature wargear to get it?

thanks for answering my newb questions.

No you can't

The deed give yuou the right to get two cybernetic body part in replacement for flesh and bones destroy in mission but no advance cybernetic item. Breaching augur like MIU or servo arm are not replacement part.

You can have arm, hand, leg, eye, internal organsn but you need to have them in flesh before replacing it. If yoiu where born with an organic breaching augur in your body then you could have put a cyber one.

1. I say no. For two reasons:

a. The breaching augur is not a cybernetic implant. I.e. it is not an implant a space marine would be allowed to recieve to replace his arm, if his arm was blown off in the last mission.

b. The augur is a weapon than an implant. I'm aware it states it can be attached as a cybernetic limb, but it's still primarily a weapon. It's more a weapon which can be attached to cybernetics, similar to the bulkhead shears being attached to a servo harness. It's entry mentions nothing about cybernetic functions of the limb it replaces or TB increases, which is something cybernetic entries have.

The main issue I have with the idea is giving out a powerful weapon to a rank 1 battle-brother for free. I have no problem if the brother used signature wargear to purchase the weapon then attached it to his left arm's cybernetic socket. Giving it to him as a cybernetic upgrade though is too much.

I'd say take an arm and another cyber implant with the deed, then use sig wargear to get an augur and plug it into your cyber-arm.

Thanks guys I appreciate your input! I figured that it sounded too cheap but thats why i asked.
