Good points. I haven't played those scenarios in a while, so I forgot about cards like Brown Lands. Still, I'd rather use The Riddermark's Finest, since that card will actually GET RID of the problem locations. Plus, it's an ally with a bit of willpower and attack, so it can do other things when not nuking locations. Hasty Stroke is redundant, though.
Hi all…played eighth and ninth game. Won one and lost (gave up on) one.
Should have mentioned in my last post that I don't have Arwen either. I built using LOTR deck builder. I wish there was a way to keep card filtering in place from session to session - if there is one, I haven't found it yet. Anyway, I realized I didn't have Arwen when I started to build the physical deck. I think I replaced her with another Escort from Edoras.
Eighth game was the third time out of four games that Caught in a Web came out on round one and snared Bifur. Now I know part of what's going on here is my horrible luck with cards! I think the odds of that card coming out are 2 in 34, and I have it come out 3 in 4! Gave up after eight rounds - could not dig my way out, and Miner didn't come up at all for me.
Ninth game much better - no Caught in Web on first round! Ended up with a score of 134, which seems respectable.
Y'all have made some really good suggestions. May play a couple more games with this deck then incorporate some of what you've added. Really appreciate all the help! Now that I've won a couple, I don't think I'll put all the cards on eBay. May even go out and buy the second expansion now! Take care!
