what do I get NEXT!?!

By flyndad, in WFRP Gamemasters

Here is a question that I am certain comes up quite a bit,… What do I buy next ?? I am a GM ( experience level 1 ) and plan to be a player with an online group. I own the core set and that is it,… what should come next ?? I would love to add corruption, disease, and ride combat, but also need to add the colleges and the faiths,… !?! Other than an additional set of dice can anyone offer a suggestion that would be the most bang for the buck and keep me and my players interested for a decent amount of time?

Also one more question,… Can the individual cards and books and bits be purchased ??? I let a player go home with his character in one of the character boxes and he has vanished <*poof*> into thin air,.. I am missing the career card, his action cards including the basic ones and his stance pieces and talent cards. Can these be replaced without it costing me a fortune ??

Thanks for your help,……

I'd send the mafia after the player that lost your stuff. ;) Honestly, I NEVER let players take my stuff home. I have Zyplock bags that each player puts their stuff into at the end of each game. They all have a copy of the player's guide so no worries there, but that is my biggest fear is having some dork lose or ruin my stuff.

Ok, so I've said this a couple dozen times here on these forums, so I'll say it again:

PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE PLAYERS GUIDE $25 for PDF and then it's yours to get to your players so they aren't taking your stuff home! rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/89808/Warhammer-Fantasy-Players-Guide

The GM's Guide is $20.00 for PDF . It has all the corruption and disease rules in it. rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/87743/Warhammer-FRPG%3A-Game-Master%27s-Guide Instead of the cards, it just has the rules for each card on percentile charts. No cards needed.

That's $45 for ALL the careers and rules up to the release date of Witch's song. Anybody who doesn't own a copy of either the hardcover or PDF of the players guide, I would argue, is making a serious mistake. Picking up the Creature guide is fine, but there's no reason why you can't just use any of the given monsters in the CORE boxed set books and change the names.

As for your lost card, contact customer service by email and have them help you out. They're usually pretty good about stuff like that. If not, let us know. Some of us here can probably help you.

Now back to a useful post: I'd suggest The Gathering Storm. It's an easy to run scenario.

Next, you should look at this "Complete WFRP Scenario List with Download Links" document and find a couple scenarios that you can link into The Gathering Storm.

In just 4 short years, a tremendous amount of stuff was put forth for 2nd edition. Conversion is straight-up. A beastman = a beastman. NPC's = 3rd edition NPC's. Skill checks are easy to convert (just wing it). Regarding coins, just use 75 silver as a maximum "loot reward" for most scenarios.

Absolutely, players don't walk out of my place with the cards either.

You want to write down your character stuff and take it fine, get your own PDF of Players Guide and you can look up actions etc. All the physical bits stay at my place/in my custody.

Once you get Players Guide hardback, if you like stuff in it and want the bits and pieces, the Players Vault is next. Ditto GM Guide and GM's Vault. That gets you to where the Priest and Wizard boxes do.

What you don't have then is Omens of War and Lure of Power stuff (fighty fight and social, Khorne and Slaanesh), or high power Hero's Call.

Black Fire Pass is only useful really if you have a dwarf focus.

The GM Toolkit is okay but not to die for if you're on a budget.

The Creature Guide is a bit of a mess - if you get the Vault you expect the Guide to tell you which actions go with which creatures but nope, not really. You do what feels right given the traits on cards. I would just get the pdf version (half the price).

The players vault duplicates most or all of the player material in the main box. You can pick that up for $30 or less, and use it to replace your missing cards.

I want to borrow this thread and ask for your advice in what order to best run the printed adventures (including those in the supplements like omens of war etc).

We will soon play an eye for an eye and then I will get the gathering storm as i understand that adventures links in good with an eye… But then?

Which adventures are for higher ranked pc? Which ones follows eachother most location wise? Please list them in the order you would run them?

Contact FFG support, they will probably provide you the missing parts
