A Day Late…A Special Package

By rx7kevin, in WFRP Gamemasters

I ran A Day Late, a Schilling Short last weekend. My group's normal game is Pathfinder. We had a good time and the player all hated the merchant in the coach. He was quite belligerent and pretty much an a-hole. They came close to killing him and taking the package.

In the end he somewhat redeemed himself by 'finally' pulling a pistol and ending part of the onslaught of beastmen. One player was a coachman sent to find the coach. He had moved into the coach forcibly after the Wargor took out the mercenary player. The Dwarf Agent (agent of the von Bruners) the did quite well fending off the Wargor after the Mercenary went down. He used Winning Smile to retreat and slow the Wargor down while the coachman fired at him with his crossbow. One last atack by the dwarf brought down the Wargor.

My players were very happy with the mechanics and are trying to figure out additional tactics. Two of the three wanted new characters. The Dwarf Agent stayed. He was sent to get the Special Package. The merchant agreed to hand over the package once they reached the Road Warden HQ in Ubersreik.

I plan on moving directly to Eye for an Eye. I am looking for ideas on what to do with the contents of the package. Was the package sent to Heinrich von Bruner detailing a cultist plot. Information on Andreas von Bruner. I would like it to be a second plot to be used after Eye for an Eye. Ideas?

The plot in Eye for an Eye spills out of earlier conflicts of the Magistrate Lord von Bruner with the Cult of the Unblinking Eye. Its "brand" is not made clear but it seems most logicaly Tzeentchian.

You could tie it back to that cult in Altdorf and make the Winds of Change cult the same group or a splinter faction. Or you could tie in genearlly a "curse" upon the von Bruner's that manifests next with Horror at Hugeldal.

Just finished doing the same thing myself and we are now in the middle of Eye for an Eye. I linked the two stories with the "Flyer" that Herr Hendrick posted in the town square.

I liked this as it linked the two stories together while at the same time, left it wide open as to who actually sent the flyer to one of the player characters in the package. ( Of course ours was folded and had a wax seal with the Von Brunner family crest in the wax,…. )

Also,… If your players didn't kill the wargor in Day Late, one of the wargors in eye for an eye could be the very same wargor. I plan to have the same wargor from day late steal the [spoiler ALERT!!!!!] painting frame from the roof immediately after the completion of the summoning. If the players seek the wargor ( they should REALLY be hating him at this point) they find the beastman's lair in the forest leading to a torture dungeon,.. Is it possible to bring Andreas back, ?!? minus one soul of course,…..
