Poll Just For Fun and Feedback

At this point now I own a consider amount of books and content from the line. Now this is just for GM eyes only so if your a player you might skip this post as their may be spoilers but what Im curious about is what suppliments, books etc.. you have bought from WFRP 3.0 line and which of those was your favorite why.

Currently Own

Core Set, Players Guide, GM Guide, Monster Guide, Creatures Vault, The Gathering Storm, The Edge of Night and Lure of Power.

I think my favorite suppliment has been Lure of Power, though my story in my current campaign hasn't really progressed that far yet. I think the part I liked the most about the suppliment is the two books, one full adventure, the other a suppliment about how nobility works, associated rules and information about how to use nobility and noble life in a real game situation. I thought it was a much more interesting both because it offered an adventure to actually run, than another book to "creating your own" using the suppliments content.

I have them ALL, ALL MINE!!! demonio.gif

My favourite…ufff difficult to say, I like them all. Probably if I would have to choose one, I would go for the Witch Song, or Signs of Faith sinds it included the disease rules…or wait! Omens of War for the sever injures, mounted combat and…so far they have done a very nice job.

i have em ALL too!! and yes, pretty much all of them are very nice work.

but for me a must have for any GM are all 4 chaos god source books, since they give a very detailed outline on the gods and the way they act, even on how they live in the chaos realms.
and not to forget the diseases, severe injuries and most of all the marks of chaos.
the one i most enjoyed reading of those was the nurgle sourcebook libe infectus i think, although slaneesh is also fascinating

the book i was most surprised about was the one i neglected ever since i bought it. the book of grudges in the black fire pass supplement. it actually is the book of grudges and it is so much fun to read all the grudges and i always got a giggle out of that!

Well core set is favourite because "it's this rocking wonderful game, hoo hah!"

Leaving that aside, Gathering Storm as it has variety, murder mysteries, farmer's daughters (of differing sorts) and I believe the most "value for money in table time" of any of the supplements put out.

Own: Core, GM Toolkit, Adventurers Toolkit, Witch's Song, Gathering Storm, Lure of Power, Omens of War, Creature Guide (pdf)
Want: Creature Vault, Signs of Faith

Favourite is a bit tricky. I've bought lots (for the stuff, the lovely stuff!) but haven't actually read it all. Hell, I realised when one of my group picked an Initiate as a character that I had only read the rules section of the Tome of Blessings in the core set, and that there was lots of lovely background info I had completely skipped over! Actually, for this reason my favourite is probably the core set, because it really does have everything.

However, aside from the core set I've been most impressed with Witch's Song. A nice tight little adventure, not too railroady and some nice bonuses like a couple of career cards and some hedge magic rules.

Overall, I've found all of the supplements light on rules for my liking, as I like to feel like I'm buying some "game" for my money. For me personally, I found both Lure of Power and Omens of War have a lot of filler material where I would've liked more specific detail.

For the future, I think POD is key. My future purchases are likely to be driven by the needs of the group, as I've pretty much satisfied my desire to buy stuff for stuff's sake! So, for example, I don't feel much of an urge to buy Blackfire Pass for a single dwarf PC in my group, and I'd much rather buy a Morr POD for my initiate PC rather than buy Signs of Faith for just 3 new Morr invocations.

true that! the core set rocks! it was the story of my roleplaying life when i arrived with the core set to bring it to my players.
nobody actually wanted to play it, since we were playing TDE at that point. and when we unboxed it and saw all the cards we were like "what the **** did you buy there?!" that will suck BIG time.
but then, when we started playing and nobody ever had to look up something in a book and the world was as grim and evil as it is in warhammer, everybody was thrilled! and now we can't stop, we just can't. the hilarity in warhammer never stops!!

although we rarely ever play the published adventures. we play in german so translating the adventures takes more time than actually writing one yourself with the material given.

and with the material i have now (all gran_risa.gif ) that makes for a huge and awesome big campaign tying all of the supplements together in one giant plot!!

Got em all as well. I'd say the "main" expansions ( Winds of Magic, Signs of Faith, Omens of War, Lure of Power ) were my favourites, since they fleshed out the game to be able to handle any setting/rp situation that might have occured in a previous edition ( without having to homebrew it in strange eons ). Those supplements have also worked out the best for the typical product breakdown that we've seen thus far from FFG ( referring to the two-pamphlet + schtuff packaging here). As nephtys pointed out, the chaos god books are really good reads. They also managed to expand on the information we have had to work with on the dark gods in previous editions of WFRP, as opposed to the "cliffs notes" versioning of the setting that we see in other 3rd edition supplements.

In terms of bang-for-the-buck I'd probably lean toward Edge of Night even though I wasn't that big of a fan of the adventure itself ( though it has some good re-usable bones ). The Ubersreik gazateer and the expanded information on the movers and shakers amongst the local nobility was/is immensely valuable for helping me bring FFG's new and focused little slice of the Old World to life. And…skaven. Can't get enough rats in the walls now can we?

The player's guide is my favorite thing to date.

My least favorite product is the creature guide, yet it's the one I use the most. If it only had a stupid "most likely used" actions for each of the monsters instead of the retarded double and triple entry format that it has, it would probably have been my favorite. I guess we'll see when 3.5 comes out if it can be improved ;)

jh

Got everything except the print on demand stuff, which i will get just have not gotten around to it yet. Favourite set has to be winds of magic, it had mutations, extra magic i was not expecting, and a very warhammery short adventure. Love all the stuff really though.

Interesting, it's hard for me to think of the supplements as seperate things. In most games I could… if you asked me what Ars Magica books I liked the most I could give you a list, but perhaps it's because all the cards get put into a pool together I just think of it as one big thing.

I guess the Creature Vault wins for me because I love all the character stands and cards. I would love a Vault 2 and theme vaults, not with adventures but more options.

i have all but the Guides. I think I lean towards Liber Infectus as my favorite because Disease gives such an excellent texture to the grim nature of the warhammer world. Sickness is ripe in my Empire and disease is always visible and eager to spread. I love it all though, so keep it coming.

Same here. In addition, it is all so jumbled together in different expansions that it is hard to say what is what. In WFRP2 my favourite book is hands down "Tome Of Corruption", while in WFRP3 I really have no idea. Allthough I might go for Tome Of Blessing, as I find Disease to be such an integral part of the WFRP experience.

In addition, I like the adventure in Winds Of Magic. It is a properly designed investigative adventure where everything is written so it makes room for player randomness instead of assuming the players make particular choices.

I own ALL boxes btw.

I have all the things that have put out, I swear its a plot by the ruinous powers to make me broke :) . In seriousness though the expansion/adventure I liked the most was "The Witch's Song" had such a great basic premise for a villian. I made her into my groups arch-nemises for about a good 6-7 months.
