I need some roleplaying ideas on these 4 character types

By Emirikol, in WFRP Gamemasters

I'm prepping our next game session and I need some help on ideas how to enhance game play for these characters:

Reikland Navigator

High Elf Mystic (with magic sight)

Dwarf Pit Fighter

Halfling Smuggler

Our campaign is set in NORDLAND. We just finished "Pig, Witch, and her Lover" and will probably be playing "False Pretenses" or "Horror at Hulgedal" next.

Any creative ideas on enhancing game experience for these characters is welcome.

Thanks,

jh

What are the personalities of the characters? What are their short term goals and why are they together?

What type of challenges do the players like?

Introduce them to their Doomings, if you haven't done so already.

Next time a character barely dodges a deathblow have the miss trigger a short flashback to the PC's Dooming ("This is not how I'm supposed to die!"). Or you could just have a PC see a Priest of Morr reading a Dooming to a child and have that trigger the flashback.

The flashback takes the PC in question back to his/her childhood to the moment just before he/she receives the Dooming. You could have the other players play the Priest of Morr, a friend or sibling receiving their Dooming at the same time, parents etc.

Then use the table from Tome of Salvation to determine the Dooming for the PC and then to all the other PCs as well. Then cut back to the present moment.

Well assuming that you are heading back to the Reikland, the excuses for this could be as follows:

The Halfling Smuggler has to meet up with colleagues smuggling a large consignment of Brettonian brandy via the Grey Lady Pass to Altdorf. Helping with the smuggling of the brandy to Altdorf will set him up for life or so he hopes.

The Dwarf Pit Fighter wants to return to Karak Azgaraz to settle a grudge with a member of another clan. The grudge is the reason that he has had to become a pit fighter, to pay off family debts. With the debts now settled, he can return to Karak Azgaraz and call the object of the grudge the orc faced lying snotling fondler that he is, and take his chances in a fight.

The High Elf Mystic wishes to travel to Athel Loren to study the ways of his Wood Elf cousins to shed enlightenment on a perplexing problem that has perturbed him for decades, if not centuries. He has decided that Athel Loren may have the answer.

The Reikland Navigator wishes to see if there is any way of shortening the journey time between Altdorf and the Grey Lady Pass, whether by road or river. His merchant guild patron even suggests that the Emperor may be willing to pay for a new canal if it is feasible and would significantly reduce the journey time.

Hope these give you some ideas.
