I was playing Victory Bridge #4 yesterday and I wondered about the "sides" of the bridges blocking LOS. Would the sides be considered walls or are they simply a picture of a bridge which may only come to to the soldiers knees/waist and not affect gameplay.

The sides are not stated in the rule to block line of sight though there is no explicit mention of it either way that I have seen.

Nothing in the map suggests the borders of the bridge blocks LOS. It's not like the Cyclone landing craft, whose adjacent squares have no dot, and thus block LOS.

Thanks for the help. The circle dot makes all the difference. I didn't consider that. My tile set arrived the other day and this will explain the "small bridge" pieces which do not block LOS, the "ammo crate" piece which I planned to treat as 2 ammo crates for soft cover and the large, rusted "machinery" pieces with no dot which would then block LOS.

I agree and additionally the triangle terrain types on the river squares does not block line of sight.
