Let us all come to the party

Well, we're almost at the fabled masquerade ball in Edge of Night . I've got a big blown up map of the manor, standees for every character, a system of sorts to track the favour, and I sure hope it all works!

Of course, the players have managed to please all 3 nobles at roughly the same rate (that system in EoN just doesn't work)! So it's looking like they're going to get invitations from all three of them. How the hell this is going to work in practice I have no idea, but I think I'm just going to go with the chaos and see what happens. I'll have them get all three invites, along with instructions on how to convince people at the ball to support the appropriate noble, and then just stand back and see what they do. They're all crap at social actions anyway, and it doesn't matter who 'wins' the social race; they're more focussed on tracking down the Nurgle cultists they know are going to show up at the ball at some time or other.

It's going to be a challenging session!

I'm a firm believer in letting the PCs create the chaos & reacting to it. I generally plan out 3 scenes that I want to have happen, and see how they get me there. It is usually quite entertaining. I try to drop some hints for stuff that will happen down the road, so that when it does happen they are excited (especially if only one PC knows about it) and think they have some leverage. Then, I crush them.

Of course, I am a long time Paranoia GM, which might effect my GMing style some. Heh.
