Rules between Artificer armour and Rites of Battle

By Grimze, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I have started a team of 5 players to the campain The Emperor Protects.

My team is made of this: Salamander Techmarine (<3), Space Wolf Scout, Raven Guard Assault Marine, Blood Angel Sang. Priest and Dark Angel Devastator.

I like my team cause they have no official leader, since no tactical marine is in the team, which makes the situation far more tactical for them.

The situation im worried about is when the Techmarine have the option to get his Artificer Armour. At the moment we use the rules for Power Armour histories from Rites of battle and the different MK(x) armours.. And im just curious to know, how many histories does a Artificer gets, since the core armour gets 1 in the rulebook, and artificer 2. But Mk4 gets 3 rolls.

Can someone find any kind of solution to this or find a rule to support anything of this?

Thanks :)

People may think this is overpowered but I think artificer armor should get +1 history over the number usually granted by the Mark.

My reasoning is that in the Core, all Aquila mark 7 armor gets 1 history and artificer gets 2. I interpret that as a +1 over the mark's base number. So yeah Mark 4 might have 4 histories. The armor is over 10,000 years old. It should be appropriately badass.

I do have the same feeling. Since the armour is far older than any others. I had the same idea of a MK(x) = y+1 :P

Kinda sad actually if you get an MK8 Errant one, if you want histories xD. Only good for the nice look :P

2 things.

First: Artificer armour is almost always "made from scratch" By almost always I mean 99% of the time Some part

The shell and some parts may come from oanother suit but its mostly gutted and all the plate is replaced with the newer more effective stuff so in the end its essentially a new suit. The artificer armour rule giving the suits 2 rolls on the table generally comes from the fact that armour (you get through sig wargeer) happens to be an ancient suit of "artificer armour". The armour the Techmarine creates himself is practically brand new, I'd say its a toss up whether the suit should have any rolls at all on the history table (like Mk 8) due to its young age.

@nd point: Wth is wrong with this page, its all fudged up. A big white blob with a non-scrollable scroll bar is coverin g the top 1/4 of the page. Hence all the typos and editing errors above.

I blame it all on Nathan, he's an agent of the anti-path. ;)

I didn't think artificer armour had a mark. it it it's own type of armour. the same way that terminatou armour is also seperate from the mark system.
