Hi everyone, I'm currently running through the Edge of Night adventure with my group and after that I was kind of planning to move on to the Witch's Song. However, I forsee a problem, there's a High Elf PC in my group and would it not be very hard for Voluria to successfully deceive a High Elf? Any suggestions/thoughts?
The Witch's Song and Elven PC's (spoilers)
There's a section on that in the book around how she might manage that - I've got a couple of high elf PCs and am intending to run witches song next, so I might well give them an opportunity to to spot a few things and become suspicious if they ask the right questions and have a level of suspicion, but if they take her story at face value, I'm not going to make them think otherwise!
For all intents and purposes she looks and acts like any other high elf, so why should they think any differently - i might avoid using her stand up until her true identity is revealed though!
If you've got any earlier edition information on Ulthuan and can make sure your high elf PC's are from parts of it different than where she is from that will help a bit. A bit more if she has selected for her cover an actual high elf family that is reclusive etc.
I would still let a player earn rewards of play and dice (really good eduction roll realizes that family never had old world colony presence).
It would be fun to get them suspecting high elf trickery and internal politics before dark elves.

True, that does sound fun. I will read through the adventure again and think of ways to make Voluria seem like a plotting high elf, fits well since the elf in the party is a noble and into the whole political stuff.
Thanks for both your answers. ![]()
For me, anything goes. You should play it out just as the adventure says, but you should plan for an altered path if they find out she is lying and a fight breaks out. I think you could easily stitch things up by having her escape into he swamp and have her ambush the witch hunter later?
