stacking hits vs hordes

How do things which cause additional hits vs hordes stack with attacks that cause multiple hits?

For example, how many hits does a bolter which gets 3 hits on the attack roll actually generate on the horde. What if it were using metal storm ammo? What if it were a storm bolter? What if you had that armor property that adds another hit?

It depends on how you read it.

Personally I read it that all multiplication is done up front, then additional hits are added on. So for example if you fire a heavy bolter into a horde and hit 3 times based on your roll to hit, you inflict 4 hits on the horde. 3 times from your roll, + 1 from using explosive ammo.

If you have metal storm rounds, you get 3 times from the roll that all have the blast (2) quality for 6 hits, + 1 from using explosive ammo.

If you have storm of iron plus metal storm you get 3 hits from the roll, but each of those hits is blast (2), so that's 6 hits. Then storm of iron multipleis the number of hits you inflict by 2 for 12 hits, then + 1 from explosive ammo. If you have unrelenting devestation you add 1d5 to the end of that.
