Help with ingame money issues

I am using 2nd ed campaigns and adventures and am having trouble coming up with suitable amounts to change 2nd ed money into 3rd ed money. 2nd ed core amount was Gold crowns, as apposed to 3rd ed using silver....

What do I do? When a border prince offers 100 GC should I just drop that to 100 Silver? I really want to use the other campaigns but I lack expereince as a DM and do not know how much to offer my players to entice them into the adventures.

In the core rulebook there is a table with normal wages for different jobs, look there for some guidelines. But 100 gold is a lot so yes, 100 Siver would probably be more appropriate.

Here is my general rule:

50 sp per adventure (usually 2-3 nights). Look at the amount that a mercenary get's paid (in the equipment section) and that should be a good guide for you .

If you look at the costs of hand weapons or daggers for example, then you can devide the goldcoins through 6 to 8 to have it reasonable compared.

So a 2gc handweapon 2E costs 25 silver in 3E.

And most of the 2nd edition adventures give a day pay for the PCs. Just look at the day pay list in the players handbook and maybe double it like 15 or 20 Silver a day. But in most adventures your quest giver is a bady anyway. :)
