Dual-wielding Unwiedly+balanced weapons

By SephyrBR, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

According to the latest Black Crusade rules, Unwieldly weapons can't be used for lightning strike and thus don't get bonus attacks. However, can a character dual-wield two melee weapons, the unwieldly one and (say) a chainsword and still get extra attacks off?

That would be a question for the Black Crusade forum. However given your description it would be allowed. You could even make 2 attacks with the unwieldy weapon and another one with the chainsword if that's the actual wording. Didn't know the rule, I like it.

Yup, it is worded like so in Black Crusade. Only Unbalanced and balanced weapons can benefit from Lightning Strike.

You could do that, but again, the rules for combat in Black Crusade changed. You can now benefit from both Lightning Attack and the other one (i always confuse them) with both weapons, you're no longer swinging 3 times with 1 and 1 with the other, so you'll get more attacks either way with a balanced weapon. I don't remember exactly where it is, but I do recall explicitly reading that. It's either in the TWF descriptors or in the lighning attack/whatever descriptors.
