Behind Mykybe's Veil - Character Pics

Tech-Priest Casu Marzu

Tech-Priest Casu Marzu, First Officer and Chief Explorator of the Rogue Trader starship 'Rose Tattoo'. Surprisingly personable for one of the Adeptus Mechanicus - no doubt he had the ancient text "How To Win Friends And Influence Meatbags' hardwired into his brain.

Astropath Adrik

Astropath Adrik of the Rogue Trader starship 'Rose Tattoo'. Native of a feral world prior to the manifestation of his psychic abilities, and supremely fortunate in that he was not only not killed by his neighbours, but strong-willed enough to survive processing, and the Soul-Binding ritual, that made him the Imperium's equivalent of an interstellar mobile phone.

Pictured here in Void Armour, assisting in a boarding action against another ship. Notice the caps over his eyes - he kindly had them installed after his empty eye-sockets kept disturbing the crew - it's not like he needed them - his abilities give him a 360-degree awareness of his surroundings anyway.

Lord-Captain van Baroque

Rogue Trader, Holder of the van Baroque Warrant, Master of the Rose Tattoo, Lord-Captain Leman van Baroque, third of the dynasty.

A dour and militarist man, still trying to rebuild the van Baroque fortunes after his grandfather nearly bankrupted his family in the war that earned them the title in the first place.

Born on one of the uncounted voidships of the Imperium of Man, Xanthis is the product of the radiation from the Plasma Engines, and the rather more insidious radiations of the Warp. But rather than being born obviously mutant, Xanthis was born with psychic potential, and had the extreme good fortune of not being flushed out an airlock as soon as these abilities began to manifest. Even more remarkable, he survived the long flight to Terra without being executed as dangerously uncontrollable, and wasn't sacrificed to the Golden Throne when he got there.

He staggering good fortune continued - he survived training at the Scholastica Psykana, decades of service in the Imperial Guard without being executed 'For His Own Good' by his chaperones, and thanks to a clerical error is now making his way deep into the Koronus Expanse on the Rogue Trader vessel Rose Tattoo.

Arch-Militant Malakai Tubreau, one of the most trusted officers aboard the Rogue Trader ship Rose Tattoo. Long experience at tunnel fighting on the planet Merates Null Five has proven quite useful about the Rose Tattoo, especially when it comes to hunting down mutants, and mapping out the Black Holds. Both of them constant tasks, especially when Warp-travel leads to Reality Erosion of the corridors when no-one is looking.

Navigator Netzach Benetek

Netzach's father was the product of hundreds of years of careful breeding to perfect the Navigator Gene that makes interstellar travel possible - careful breeding he threw away on a dalliance with a comely lower-deck wench. The emergence of Netzach's Third Eye and associated psychic abilities, some 13 years later, came as a huge shock to everybody concerned.

Netzach grew up without the wealth and influence normal for a Benetek, but this has bred an independence and ruthlessness of spirit that has served him well during his work in the Koronus Expanse.

His two attendants are of course nods to the Guild Steersman scene in David Lynch's version of Frank Herbert's Dune

Lord-Captain Maximilian dePledge; Marquis of Anaradai Prime, Mirabile, and Mirai; Master of the starship Royal Privilege; patron of the arts, and of the 1st Anaradai Mounted Regiment; master diplomat and trader; and spymaster.

Accompanied by his creature, Dragan.

dePledge is some 230 years old, and has held the dePledge Warrant of Trade for most of that. Over the centuries he has had most of his body aside from his central nervous system replaced with the finest Imperial cybernetics, but that's the kind of thing you can get done when you're a techno-fetishist with more money than God.

Rival Rogue Trader & Augmenticist in the campaign.

A minor criminal who got lucky. Very lucky. Born on the Imperial Shrine-world of Kringle, and then known as Rosenkrantz, he was one of thousands of POWs taken by the Tau when Kringle was overrun.

Shipped off to an experimental colony where the Tau were trying to encourage all their various POWs to embrace the Greater Good, Rosenkrantz soon became involved in various shenanigans, was tortured almost to death by his own people for something he didn't do, and was so enraged by this injustice he promptly went to work full-time for the Tau.

This didn't go according to plan, either, and Rosenkrantz, now Jak Frost, found himself wandering around the Koronus Expanse at the other end of the galaxy, where he eventually lucked out and was hired on to the starship Rose Tattoo, when his abilities soon saw him earn a position of considerable responsibility.

Not bad going for a traitor and heretic, especially one with such bizarre fashion sense, Imperial tastes leaning more towards 'Over-Elaborate with Extra Skulls'.

The Rose Tattoo , reduced to insignificance before the Royal Privilege . Naturally, Lord-Captain van Baroque is green with envy.

That last drawing is really good!

thanks :)

The astropath is my favorite, but I'm a sucker for both bulky spacesuits and boxy guns. Good stuff!
