Half action to use full auto fire - basic or pistol weapons

By Bcsordas, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

Hi!

Is there a way to do full auto fire as a half action with a non heavy weapon (and suspensor)?
Suspensor rules make heavy weapons significantly more powerful because of this extra feature. Is there any equipment what can upgrade normal weapons the same way?

Thx!

Not to my knowledge.

Also, with suspensors, do realize that you still can't fire the gun twice or anything. All it allows the character to do is move a bit easier. The game still limits you to only one attack per round. Heck, RAW with errata now also shoots down my old quack theory of a librarian manifesting smite and firing full auto with suspenors on a HB.

Its hardly "significantly more powerful," its a minor upgrade at best, allowing a combat role that is traditionally forced to be stationary to move at half speed more often.

EDIT: About the closest similar upgrade is "Bring Death From Afar" armour history. This gives a roughly similar bonus, but causes penalty to the full auto shooting. But once again, all suspensors really allow is movement. Maybe interaction other objects, but much of that should be full round actions.

Ehh too bad... So its force us to use heavy weapons...

I still think it is a big bonus. You can acitvaite new group tacticks, use some psy powers (there is some very usefull), use autofire when pined, use half action combat tackticks (like ehhh feint :) ), and the most powerful: you can keep up your psy concentration... All those things are impossible with a basic weapon. (ofc suspensor is not cheap)

Our Dark Angel lib, can sit inside his 15 extra armour, lowering the willpower of some enemys (makes enemy psykers life much harder), shoot them with autofire, and psy counter from reaction.

There is a way if you disregard the Deathwatch Combat-Rules all together and use the Black Crusade Rules instead including the new interpretation of Talents.

Every Action is now a Half-Action including Full/Semi-Auto, but BS gets a lesser bonus so aiming is more important (and of course costs a Half-Action). There is only one original Rule we noticed so far which interferes with the BC-Rules and this is the already mentioned "Bring Death From Afar" from the armour history because it is obselete now.

Some might argue that the BC-Rules put some Combat Actions at a disadvantage compared to the old rules but they are made up by even more advantageous and logical Actions and Talents. Ever wondered how a SM is able to squeeze 5 Shots out of his Bolter with a 4-Round-Burst-Limiter only because of the Bolter Drill Talent? Then look at the BC-Rules, now Bolter-Drill makes sense. If I remember this right you can also use Full/Semi-Auto in Meele-Combat.
