Primarily, my house rulebook focuses on:
1. Giving players a concise FLUFF background for their imperial regional humans (other than Reiklander), and the other races with lists of NAMES. Then you don't get so many players coming in with BOB THE SOLDIER or ELMINSTER THE FORGER with no clue about the other provinces in Empire.
2. Careers: Characters in my games start with all the trappings (albiet a poor version of each thing, unless otherwise stated). I also list any specific nuances that I've changed about the careers as well as some organizations from 2e that are relevant to character development or background. Lastly, I allow characters to take a career a 2nd time, gain an added talent slot, and encourage some alternate theming (removing these as 3e puts out replacement careers).
3. Equipment. I simply made lists and made the items from SoF and WoM more cohesive. They are based on the ones from LF8. Also, I made a standard for what other superior items would be worth (other die types besides white/fortune) and added some new items.
4. Game Play rules: We don't use party sheets and talent 'socketing.' We also have simplified advancement rules and a couple other things that make the game run quicker.
I removed a few things from my house rulebook: I removed all the write-ups for foreigners, halflings and strigany (are they foreigners as gypsies?) simply b/c we don't need them. If any of you want that old info, let me know (send me a message with your email) and i'll email it to you. I also removed elf wizards and initates and now that Blackfire Pass is out, I didn't need so much dwarf info either.
